It would seem that some folks are confused abot the difference between criminal and civil court....BIG difference.

Well, Moosh must have had a few people separated from him at birth. I agree with your way of thinking Moosh... definitely on this and also in general. You have a mature opinion and insights that can see both sides.

Hey guys this was supposed to be a fun topic about MJ and his "ride" ;) not about his morals and level of mental development.

...Agghh, gimme a break will ya?

I just kept wondering last night what's giong to happen to Neverland when Mr. Jackson dies. Will it be opened to the public? Disney? Six Flags? Will it be thought of as some sort of freakshow, or a legitamate theme park brought to life by an eccentric innovator? Or will all the rides be torn down and the place turned into some sort of Graceland.

From what I could see from quick shots, the place is quite beautiful imo, with an errie quality that bordered on a strange traveling carnival.

As for Mr. Jackson himself, eh, big deal. I was frankly bored by the docu-*drama*, and turned from the show midway. People who think MJ is all that different from other rich, bored and eccentric celebrities with bad childhoods, need to come hang out in LA for awhile. Heck, most of us watch(and laugh at) shows like The Osbornes and Anna Nicole without ever stopping and asking how completely odd and out of touch these people really are? What are they doing for society?

DWeaver - Neverland is near Santa Barbara. Should it still exist when Mr Jackson dies I don't see it being developed into a major amusement park. I do think the population in surrounding cities such as Santa Barbara, Ventura, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, etc., could support a small, traditional park.

I dont think Michael Jaockson will ever open it to the public, except for children. I dont think he would build anything big either because of the childrent hat go there.

With all this bashing, i dont really care. MJ has had his moments, but after seeing the show last night, you can tell that he is not all there. With everything that has happened to him in his life, no wonder the man is nutty. He never had a chance to be a child. he had to grow up at the age 10. I think that becasue of this, and because of his abusive father, that is the answer to the way he acts. he never got to be a child, and now is getting to be like one. Yes, i think that it is very wrong for him to sleep w/ children, and have a 13 year old boy hang out and sleep over and stuff. The little boy was resting his head on Michael and stuff. It is just wrong. You can see how he just not there. I really feel sorry for the guy.

I do have one major problem thuogh, the way he treats his children. Making them wear weird masks and making them go out in public like that and in front of hundreds of people. How traumatizing for them. And the little baby he has. Runnign out of the hospital w/ the bloody baby, and the way he was shaking it so violently when he was trying to feed it. It is very wrong. The same goes for his other 2 children. I think DCF needs to go and take the kids awy becasue the man is crazy. He is not there at all. Come on guys, he thinks he is Peter Pan!!! he said it himself. He said he wasnt "Michael Jackson", he was "Peter Pan". That is just messed up.

True, but look at OJ, he was able to finagle a victory in trial court but was found liable in civil court. Try convincing me (and many many others) that he didn't commit those murders...it isn't gonna happen!

Like Hollister said Jackson is definitely trying to be an emotional eight year old because it takes him away from problems and horrible memories of abuse from his childhood. I don't see a major crisis type problem with the kids sleeping in the same bed because michael is too emotionally innocent and screwed up to take advantage of them or molest them. But I still wouldn't dream of letting my children near him. Anyways back to the original topic, He should build a mid sized kiddie woodie named "The Flamer". (Pepsi commercial reference, get your minds out of the gutter.)

Don't be fooled. Society is set up to give rich celebs certain "outs" that the rest of us don't have. My dad has worked with people like John Travolta and Whitney Houston, and man, some of the things we *don't* hear about.

Stars don't live on ultra- guarded estates just to keep fans out. They live in their own worlds, with their own laws and rules. Ever wonder why Winona Ryder had such a "deer in headlights" look during her trial? She honestly could not believe she was being prosecuted for something she was *entitled to*. These people don't live in the real world.

In Mr. Jackson's world, he is doing nothing wrong. And in the world of celebrity that *we* help create, he could give a rat's arse what your opinions of him are.

Or she was coked out of her mind and there's also the possibility she was acting.

ok Im going to get flammed for this but I think Michael Jackson is awesome *covers face* look at all the GREAT GREAT songs he has had (ignore last year) So what he has had surgery!
Although I personnaly do not care for him, I can admit his songs are good. Heck, I used to like him, he just got a little to "eccentric" for my tastes. (Being VERY generous here...)

I guess I am a sourpuss, because I hink that MJ's music, style and dance is washed up.

He definitely was cutting edge at one point, but after the "Thriller" era ended, he went downhill fast in my book.

I mean, c'mon, were really supposed to buy the idea that Michael was "Bad?" Especially when he sang it in the key of high C?

He has been doing the same robot/leg kick/crotch grab/"hee hee" things for twenty years.

There have been some good tunes, but hardly anything earth shattering.

One thing I will give the nod to, his videos are always top notch and he never fails to treat the eyes with terrific visuals in them.... but then again that is not his doing, that is the talent of script writers, editors, special effects gurus etc etc etc.

I don't know, I think Jackson had a pretty good run. Don't forget, he spent 20 years with his brothers. If he'd stopped there, he'd still would have had quite a career. We went on to then solidify his place in history with 10 years of record breaking success. Most artists fade, unless your Madonna or Cher who still make headlines(why, I have no idea).

Michael's problem is that he's so shrouded and out of touch with the real world, that he has no clue that people have stopped caring. Heck, he still has rabid fans still chasing his limos down the street. These people too, I feel are living in the past. His current work is all PR, it has nothing to do with actual artistry.

Im going to say this, What makes you a adult? RESPONSIBLITY!

I would personally love to be able to do what I want, when I want and how I want to do it. If I could I would probably have friends, Including children and do everything I like to do that is fun.

Fact is, I have to work, I have parents that I have to take care of. I have no wife or kids so I am pretty free. I have bills to pay. Now give me a billion and see if I can't have everything taken care of. I think I would even loose touch with reality

While I don't personally believe that Jocko would do anything to hurt anyone, I do believe he is NOT RESPONSIBLE and is a little kid in his own mind.

Yeah, the steam train was pretty awesome. I can't help but think that one day, this peculiar place will be open to the public.
Michael Jackson... King of Pop. I watched the show and thought it was a phenomenal interview. It really showed a lot about MJ that the world has not seen. I am a huge fan of his. Right now, I'm in the middle of a biography for school and I think he is one of the top 100 most influential people of the 20th century. However, I don't agree with everything he does. I think some of us are blind to what happened to him as a kid.

At a very young age his father began to beat him for the stupidest reasons. His father had numerous affairs and their family was falling apart. All the Jackson kids, most under 20, had girlfriends while part of "The Jacksons". Michael on the other hand, did not. Following his morals and lessons he had learned from his mom who was a Jehovah's Witness, he saw sex as pain and suffering. His father was afraid that he was gay or asexual so they locked him in a hotel room with hookers. Well, MJ resisted. After spending the day at the Playboy mansion with a "girlfriend" she wanted to skinny dip in the hot tub but Michael refused. He was torn and could never accept Jackie Onassis after he saw a nude picture of her on a calendar. He slept in the same room with his brothers having sex. This boys childhood was everything but normal.

I feel that if he would have had a normal childhood he would be just as normal as every single one of us. He was taught by everything in his life what he knows now. So many performances and having to be the role model of his older siblings cost him his childhood. There is nothing wrong with wanted to stay a child. That is a fire that burns a little bit in all of us but I feel his is much stronger than most of us here. He is the victim. He is the one that has been abused. People need to look into the roots of things. They look at his actions and see him as a horrible person. After how he has been traumatized, I feel that is the best he knows. So, I feel that Michael Jackson deep down is a great person, and I'll love his music and dancing, especially the "moonwalk" forever.

What has Michael Jackson contributed to our society?...

Michael Jackson led the way for what is music and music videos today. In a world where so much of our culture is based around music and dance, he has changed it like no other. The lyrics to his songs aren't pointless but tell stories about life, happiness, and the world around us.

If you smile
With your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll find that life is still worthwhile if you'll just...
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile

Michael Jackson also lead the way for music videos. With his video "Beat It," Michael showed that violence can be settled through Dance and music. Although to most people the message may not appear, I feel this is what he was expressing through it. He also turned what for many was only a music video into a small production. Casting actual L.A. gang members in Beat It, and bringing on special effects and make up crews that were only seen in feature-length movies, are some of the things Michael did to raise the bar on music video making. He even raised it so high that Thriller was added into the big screens for a short time, so it could be nominated for an Emmy.

One thing that Michael Jackson may have revolutionized most is dance. His famous moonwalk and sideways moonwalk are constantly seen as dance moves in other popstars performances, and music videos. His creativity has yet to be matched and he holds a special place on every stage that no other person can get to.

If you'd take time to look at how much music effects our everyday lives, and how much he has one for it, then maybe you could understand why I say he has done so much for us. Everytime you turn on the radio, or flip past MTV, MTV2, VH1, BET, and all oher music related stations on TV, you get a little bit of the American culture in your head. Take some time to stop and smell the roses, realize where we live and what the things he's done REALLY mean. You might be surprised....

I'll try and remember that if I ever get mugged or am involved in a bank hold-up a Tango should help alleiviate the stress of the moment.

Or better yet, why don't we teach Al-Qaida (sp??) how to breakdance! There's the answer to world peace!

I am totally kidding, not making light of you, I just couldn't resist ;-)

I'll try another approach...

The majority of his music videos have a Broadway style to them and often reflect actual musicals. This not only informs audiences of these plays and musicals, but teaches them the same type of lessons.
