And now it looks as if there is yet another CoasterDude for me and nate to be confused with :(.

....in that case, it's probably time to bring on the CoasterChicks...where are THEY all hiding...;)

Elissa married Rob, so there goes that one. ;) Congrats you 2 if you browse Coasterbuzz.

All the other chicks into coasters these day seem to be attached to guys into coasters. At least I found one who tolerates my hobby.

And another one too.

Just got back from the park.......awsome coaster awsome addition. got some nice pics from the skytower!! gotta go to work now...................

And as far as smoothness.....premier must have done a very good job because the ride was compariable to that of top gun..........

premier?? Anyway I take it the new coaster was running well today? *** Edited 3/21/2004 1:20:53 AM UTC by Bosshawk***
hehe... not so well. I got on the second train of the day and got my ride in (awesome and smooth). BUT at around 3:30 the ride broke down and stayed down for the rest of the day. Apparently something was wrong with a sensor on the lift. However.... the ride looks AMAZING in its new surroundings... the borg sphere has to be seen to be believed.
At least you got to ride it before it went down for the day,how many trains were running for the grand opening today?

You'll probably have more frequent two train operation with Borg than we do up here with Batwing that's for sure.

They had only one train operating today they were working on the other one while the ride was operating. The ride broke down for like 45 mins while i was in line, and still w/ sone train operation and the break down it was still under 2 hours. I saw someone walk to the top of the lift hill while it was down and i kinda figured it was something wrong w/ the sensors.

Being my first vekoma flyer im sorta leaning towards their design as far as best flyer. To me, the only thing S:UF has on this one is the pretzel. Now the train shuffled a little in the corkscrews but all the transitions kept you disoriented and amazed!! This ride packs some awsome g's, especially at the beginning of the vertical loop. Now as far as inversions, i can only say i went upside down only once. The screws felt just like getting on the floor and doing the end of the stop-drop-and-roll procedure lol lol.

As far as the landscaping goes.............I didnt see dirt for miles!! All grass and shrubs and trees planted thru-out the coaster. Even some water spouts in the water. If someone came to me and told me that the coaster was meant for the park i would absolutely believe them. I have never see a relocated coaster fit soo perfectly into a new home. It doesnt stand out at all. The only thing someone is gonna hve to win me on is that this coaster is taller than top gun lol lol.

Premier refurbished the trains.

oh ok I hadn't heard that.
And I heard Vekoma is none too happy about them going to Premier too. But, I hope it was for the best.....last one I rode was Batwing last year and it shuffled and had square wheels....I hope Premier did well with this one!

Yeah I really think they did their job well. I did notice that we do not have spring-loaded wheel assemblies though... the set of wheels that wasn't currently being used was about .25 inches off the track... enough so that they don't both roll consistently. However, the ride was VERY smooth and only felt a small rumbling while in the low point before the loop. It wasn't anything that took away from the craziness of the ride though. If they get all the kinks worked out (which im SURE they will, they can't afford not to) this will be one awesome addition. People who got to ride it all agreed it was awesome and wanted to ride again but unfortunately it broke down.
Perhaps SFA should take some pointers & go to premier to see about getting Batwing's wheel mounts upgraded as well, they have to get parts for JJ every season so if premier rides can do something to make Batwing smoother I say go right ahead & do it.

That darn thing shakes & vibrates so much it's unbelievable especially during the inline rolls.

Ok, does anyone besides me think that that Borg Sphere is the coolest piece of theming ever? I mean, it's friggin' awesome.

Isn't it funny that the 7th grade band at my school went on the EXACT DAY the ride opened? I mean, how wierd is that?

I knew this would happen. The color scheme, theme, and even the name have all grown on me. I cannot wait to ride this ride.

The ride really looks great in its new surroundings. I noticed that PC installed shading over the brakerun, which really shows that they care about their guest experience. I've heard countless stories of people waiting on the brake run in the hot sun on Vekoma fliers. Maybe SF should take a hint from Paramount.
Can't wait to get there sometime soon and compare BORG to Stealth. Oh yeah, is that NEW PAINT on Vortex? This season is looking kick butt.
The ride looks awesome. The Borg sphere is perfect there. Can't wait to ride it.

Yes, the Vortex looks exceptionally good this year. They've painted the spine and the rails. The rails almost look white.

I'm sure this has already been said in another thread, but now two of the three US Vekoma Flyers are black and green :)
