Carowinds 2004 pics UPDATED!!

The park has unloaded some pics of the construction of the unknown coaster. Im sure many of you have a hunch of what they are gonna name it but i gotta say Unknown. http://www.carowinds.com/corpinfo_constr_photos.jsp

Personally im not Exactly thrilled about the color scheme. I think either the grey/gray or the black could have done just fine without the other. I think it makes the green stick out like a sore thumb. Now if the green was white then it would have given a Relic type feel to it, a little gothic look.

I like the color scheme. It'll really stand out!

Anyone notice Vortex's train sitting in the background in that first picture. I guess they haven't taken the train off for the off season or something.

All that's really left for me to say is that I hope that it's completed by March.

So, I guess there isn't going to be an island any more? That kinda sux, I was hoping for the coaster to swoop over the water, but oh well. I'm sure it will be a great coaster, can't wait to get back next year.

I think that , even though it will stick out , the Color scheme is absolutely mortifying. The obvious Star Trek theme won't even help cover it up , it's so bad.

But that picture also shows the Sternwheeler still being there and its gone now. Unless they are putting in a new one.

once again I will say I guess you all want it to be red and silver so it can be the umpteenth coaster to have that scheme. I mean just using the basic colors: red, blue, green, etc. there are tons of color schemes available and yet there are so few combinations that exist. I think it is great that a coaster is being painted green and black. How many other coasters have that scheme?

Well... I guess Riddler's is kind of green and black... in as much as the supports are black and the track is green... but I like it! It's definitely not your usual color scheme.

I think it looks great. It's original and it stands out. As for Vortex in the background, pictures don't do it justice. I was there in October and that baby needs to be painted. It looked like it was going to rot and fall apart.

If you look at the photo with the footers, you can see some of the footers are a lot taller; that's where the coaster is going to swoop over the water. I personally think the color scheme is pretty good, and it will be interesting to see how they theme the ride, and the extent of the theming.

How is the theme Obvious Star Trek? Personally when Paramount does decide to put Star Trek in their parks I hope they don't do it with a hand-me-down gimmick coaster. That theme desrves something extraordinary.

What do you mean Gimmick?? What makes a coaster a gimmick coaster. What is it with people and the fact that a coaster was moved from another park. Its still virtually brand new!! I see it like this..........Stealth was/is an original design. Their isnt any coaster with the exact same layout as Ex-stealth. How much extraordinary can you get. Flying coasters and launched coasters are the "trend" and thats whats going right now. I can see if........no i cant see because i feel every coaster is pretty good for whats it worth. I would have been happy of they brought grizzly from PGA to PC. Its something new to most park goers, and i havent seen many additions that were subtractions, and i dont think this is gonna be one either. Regardless of theme this is gonna be a good ride and something that will benefit the park greatly.

Well, there's Phantom's Revenge, Riddler's Revenge, SFDL's Viper, and X-Flight for starters. How many coasters have the same color scheme as Stealth? Um....none.

As for Flying Dutchmen with lime green track, well, I count just two.

January 15 is rumored to be the announcment date for the name ans theme. I guess we'll see if the Star Trek rumor is really what they came up with.
