C-Net, Washington Post, offer reachable news alternative in wake of attacks

This is horrible... this much damage hasn't been done since the Civil War, and more may be on it's way.

This day will go down as one of the worst days in American History.

lets hope the people who did this are american, not some hired terrorists for another country,or else this could start a war, which im sure all of you dont want.

I just have to say that this is a terrible terrible tragety.

This date will live in infamy. I believe that this is the worst act of terrorism anywhere. This will likely start WWIII. I hope that everyone on this board is ok, and that their families are ok as well. I hope that whoever did this will not just be destroyed, but wiped off the face of the earth.

my heart goes out to all those affected by this tragedy.  I pray that this as as far as this terrorist act goes.  hearing report after report of incidents was hard enough.  may the souls of all those who have passed today rest in peace with their creator.

this is so sad! My heart goes out to the ones who lost their life. When the trade centers wen't down people were auctally jumpig from 80 stories up to get out...a coupel was even holding hands! omg!

This overshadows Pearl Harbor as the most infamous day in American History.  Pearl Harbor was a military attack on a military base, but this was a CIVILIAN attack.  This was a heinous action, and the US will punish the perpetrator with impunity, whether it be group or country (most likely a combination of the two, seeing how devastating it really was).  Prayers go out to those who were affected by these attacks and their families. 

Thanks for posting this on your site, Jeff, even if it's not coaster related.  Since CB is my homepage, it stopped me from going to some of the more traditional news sites and getting frustrated.

Maybe the date isn't a coincidence...I hope that we come out on top, and society prevails! I don't want WW3 but, whoever did this should face the wrath of the United States of America!

I have freinds and family that live in NY. Long Island and Harlem. I hope they're ok. This is a horrible day. People chearing on the streets of Palastine, then denying that they did anything? Idiots!

This is the next Pearl Harbor. I can't believe this happened on American Soil. My prays go out to anyone who had relatives involved in this incident or anybody who was at all effected by this. Those people who are cheering because a bunch of Americans are dead make me sick!

This is a very very sad day. This attack is and will start another war. There is no doubt about that. With all the middle east countries supporting these acts of violence and all of the Europe countries supporting us I am scared to see what is going to happen. What is even scarier is who's fighting who and what side will China and Russia take.  There are a lot of countries out there that hate U.S  I think this could have very well started another World War 3. Maybe this is my generations turn to fight. God help everyone and if you get a chance please donate some blood to a bloodbank.

I have heard that the death toll is in the ten's of thousands. No words can express my outrage at those resposible.

Those responsible should heed the words of Adm. Yamamoto after the attack on Pearl Harbor....."I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve".
