Bob Chapek Interview: "We have much more demand than there is supply"

I've been to Magic Kingdom in Florida twice; once as a kid and once in the 90s. It was fun!

Last year I finally made it to Disneyland. Having never considered myself a Disney fan, I loved the place - one of the best. Space Mountain knocked my socks (flat) off, I had no idea! Matterhorn was closed but I have a feeling it would be one of my favorite steel coasters (I'll take an old janky unique ride over a big coaster anyday).

It just screamed charm. My favorite spot in the park was behind the castle - the dark ride area. Mr. Toad was my favorite! 2 days of re-rides and we somehow missed Alice in Wonderland ouch. I said charm and fun but it was no Knoebels...

Totally agree with everything you said. DL far surpasses Magic Kingdom on the "charm" factor. We actually hit Alice first thing our our trip and we made a point of doing all the "unique to DL" rides like Storybook Boats, Casey Jr, etc. Matterhorn was fun but borderline painful for me so I would not have gone twice even if I had the chance.

I would agree. DL > MK, but it’s smaller and feels a lot tighter than MK

Matterhorn is fun but it beats you up for sure.

And I’ve always loved Indiana Jones ride. Wonder why it was never added down in Florida?

from what I remember, I liked DL Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean better than the MK versions, but that’s just my opinion. Florida versions are still fun.

I like FL Splash, ToT, Philharmagic and Pooh much better, and HM and the London portion of Pan slightly better. Pirates, Indiana Jones, Radiator Springs Racer, Space Mt are all much better in CA, neverland, BTMRR, Mater, slightly better. While WDW is my favorite of the two resorts Disneyland Park is my favorite Disney park by a long shot.

Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom is a clone of Indiana Jones, as far as the ride system goes. That's why.

The_Orient_of_Express:
MK might be the highest concentration of strollers anywhere in the world.

...But for the highest per-capita number of guests on wheels at any park in the world, the champion has got to be Dollywood, where the wheelchairs and scooters are comparable in numbers to the strollers!

--Dave Althoff, Jr.
(Hey, let's have a park where *all* of the guests are in some kind of wheeled conveyance and see how that works out...!)

Dave disagree, WDW has a much higher amount of scooters. Grandma and Granpas going to little Suzzies first trip, and the fact that outside of CP and Universal HHN the amount of walking one does at Disney parks is crazy. I can go back on my iPhone health app and find Disney visits. It’s not hard.

Las Vegas has the most scooters. Don’t wanna walk? Just rent a scooter.

That's called the "Buffet-to-Scooter Ratio".

Better than 90% of Tesla custom plates.

"LOL GAS"

Curious what yours says, @Jeff (And don't tell me you don't have a custom plate. I"m pretty sure it's the law for Tesla owners)

I wonder if that's the customs agent that processed Joe Rohde a few years back?

The plates on both of my Teslas are non-custom Make-a-Wish/WDW 50th plates.

Where's the dislike button, ;)

Yeah, nothing worse than supporting Make-a-Wish.

What the hell is wrong with custom plates? I have my school and my graduation year. Makes it easier to remember when I have to write it down. It was also a gift from my father when I was accepted to that school.

Absolutely nothing! Relax.

All 3 of my family have custom plates on our vehicles. All 3 are names of our favorite bands. I was merely poking light fun at the culture of smug Tesla plates and The Cult of Elon. Then you 2 went and took it as an insult.

Personally, I believe in clean cars, no stickers, minimal badging, and minimal chrome. (Except on my '65 Impala of course!) Cool cars should speak for themselves. Teslas certainly do. Personalized plates, even the smug Tesla ones, are encouraged in my view since we're required to have plates. One of the greatest plates I ever saw was on a Prius that said SMG LBRL. I don't identify with that statement, or choice of car, but absolutely admire the statement and the humor that they chose to make.

My Prius plate was "NOTNSUV." Someone in Florida already had "LOL GAS."

I've never done custom plates and I used to not put stuff on my cars but my old van was cruddy looking when I got it so I stickered it up. One of my favorites was "it's a hybrid, it burns gas and oil".

I used to have custom plates but got rid of them when I traded in my Prius. The dealership was unable to remove the plates so I ended up just getting new ones. My wife bought me a "0.0" sticker for my car but I don't have the heart to put it on.
