B&M Dive coaster for Cedar Point in 2016?

Sorry, didn't mean to start a whole Lightning Racer debate, especially since my "wish list" was an afterthought. But yes, Gemini is a great racer, but I always thought that the park could use a great smaller twister coaster to compliment Blue Streak as Mean Streak has lost a lot of appeal and seems to really beat the general public up (I rode it once this year near the front and it was awful) and I would love to see it replaced. Plus it takes up an incredible amount of space.

Then I thought, a GCII twister would be great, but would they run 3 trains in Cedar Point fashion and have a mid-course block (back in the day when there always seemed to be mid-course blocks)? Then I thought why not 4 trains/two tracks and make them duel, great capacity, one station, flow the people in from one point, and center a fast pass lane. (even name it Dueling Desperado's—the logo would be cowboys with their backs to each other and pistols held high)

Then RMC came on the market, and as much as I would love to see Mean Streak RMC'd, (which was my thought for 2016, and still could be) seeing what they have done with Goliath and Outlaw Run, I would actually rather see something new like that.

So relocate the planning and design building to new offices, connect the mean streak Plaza with a path that goes to Slingshot and build a nice new GCII dueling in place of Mean Streak and around the haunted house building. Throw in a western-themed Larson looper someplace (call it Dizzy Lizzy) and add a RMC a few years later near that space.

Too far-fetched?

Count me in as someone who thinks Lightning Racer is spectacular.

I am in the (perhaps rare?) camp of "good but not great" for Lightning Racer. My most recent visit (about 8 years since the previous) I skipped it after having ridden Wildcat because it was just too far. I don't dislike it, but I won't spend any energy defending it and I'd barely spend much energy to ride it.

I like Hersheypark a lot; I like the coasters and I like the "let's see how many coasters we can squeeze into Comet Hollow" thing.

I've enjoyed every ride I've had on Lightning Racer.

From the article: " The proposed Dive Coaster has a maximum speed of about 80 mph with a ride lasting about 195 seconds, including 30 seconds for loading and unloading of passengers. At that rate 1,310 guests per hour could ride the coaster."

I really wish we could dispense with these ridiculous ride run times.

Case in point - Fury 325 is advertised as having a 3:25 ride time, when Carowinds' own POV video is 1:40... and yes, I know they cut part of the lift hill, but the ride hits the brake run at 1:34.

Bah humbug.

Maybe that's why some coaster seem to stack all the time, so they can artificially inflate ride times...

But then again, what do I know?
