B&M Dip n' Dive?

The wear could be from the chain dog staying down and hitting each link as it accelerates.

i noticed that on arrow loopers w/ immediate drops of high speed (example... Shockwave, Phantom's Revenge) you can hear a very noticeable "crack-k-k-k-kkk" as the last car is yanked over the crest. it doesnt appear to be damaging to it, but it certainly sounds like it is.

i did not hear this on the Demon, likely because it has a turnaround and only reaches about 15mph as the last car leaves the chain.

but next time youre standing under an older Arrow with an immediate drop, listen for it. i know you can hear it on the two mentioned above, and probably most others of that age.

The noise you people here is that of the antirollbacks just going faster as the train accelerates or the chain dog coming off.

In no way does this damage anything. It just simply comes forward.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

So do you think the dip n' dive for B&M hypers are all over? I'm sure B&M will make many hypercoasters over the next decade but will Raging Bull and Apollo's Chartiott be the only one's with a dip? It's going to be weird one day when I say to my kids, "Yeah I remember when B&M had dips in their hypercoasters!" (and they'll say), "Yeah, that was when soda was only $3.00 at amusment parks!!!" HA!

Was I sleeping when I was on Apollo. That lil dip that everyone gives glory, laud and honor to did nothing for me. Gimme the str8 drop anyday.

The trains on Bull dip and go down right away, while on Apollo's Chariot, they have a little straightaway before you drop.

Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at SFCB.

Yeah I noticed that Raging Bull was more of a quick dip before the drop where-as Apollo has a dip, then that long stretch, then the drop. It must be cool riding on a straight piece of track that far up.
