Goliath after the first three drops. Second half would've been great but it's to slow for my taste thanks to the wimpy GP.
I try not to get worked up (too much) over a ride before getting on. And then, if it isn't great right away, I try riding it a couple more times (especially later). And if it still isn't great, I ain't disappointed.
My biggest disappointments come from downtimes.

This wonderful post was brought to you by the CoasterBuzzer formally known as MindBender!
KUMBA was a descent ride, but defanitely did not deserve all the hype it got. The only thing it gave me was a headache.
Hulk. I am shocked by much of what else is being said in this thread, but i think i better keep my mouth shut........

Don't touch the watch.
A lot of peeps have said it and I agree 100%. SON OF BEAST is the biggest let down of the coaster loving population. I love PKI and every ride they have built is rideable and fun in my opinion, but SOB was the bumpiest, most painful expierance of my life. I would rather have my teeth drilled. I followed the layout and construction of this monster and practically lost sleep for two years over the anticipation of rideing it. SOB was the first ride I was on at PKI in 2000. I visited the park 4 more times last year and never did I re-ride that bruise machine. Did you ever wonder why the line was only an hour or 2 long? It's because nobody rode it twice. It is so unbelievable that they call it the sequel to one of the best coasters on the planet, The Beast. Other then that no other coaster has been less than what I have expected.
Biggest letdowns:
1)Mantis(first B&M stand-up)
2)Millennium Force(hype; rode S:ROS a week earlier; entire group enjoyed Magnum even more)
3)Mean Streak(didn't know about it; size)
4)Hercules(ditto MS)
5)Steel Phantom(lists; hype)

PKI-Wooden and Kiddie Coaster Capital of the World!
The First and Only Gigabuzzer bigger than Millie, rising Faster than Maggie, and pulls more BS than MS ever will!!!
You are the Weakest Link! Goodbye!!!

Iron Wolf was the first B&M standup along with being B&Ms first coaster

I agree with every word. Hulk was a let-down. In addition to that, I expected Mean Streak to be decent, and it was horrible. This thread is pretty shocking isn't it? I can't believe this - I'm basically reading a list of my favorite coasters.
Chitown, it was my first B&M stand-up, which is why I was disappointed.

I bring back a comment from last week. It sounds like some people are playing way too much RCT. MF drags after the drop? Are you out of your mind? What drug were you taking that day that made that coaster seem slow in any sense of the word? Let's leave the coaster designing up to the pros.
Sorry Koaster King. I misinterpreted your statement.

Aside from my disappointments at both MF and SOB being closed on my visits, Raptor is my biggest disappointment of all time.
Okay, for the many people that like it, it was probably their first invert, and will always remain popular with them, but it is bottom of my list of inverts, altough I prefer it to Vekoma's SLC (Seriously Lame Coaster)!
However, maybe with some front seat riding at Coastermania, I may get to like it (and the park) after all.

May/June 2001 - 16 parks in 18 days!!!
Try Raptor's back right seat. You won't be disappointed.
If The Force was down the day you were there, the day of the infamous lightning strike, it's a bummer you didn't stay late. The part was flown in and the ride opened that night.

Biggest Let down:
Wood: Thunderbolt (Kennywood): I was expecting alot from this coaster with all the hype and the number one rating. To me, it wasn't anything spectacular. I had more fun on Jack Rabbit that day and on Leap-The-Dips and Skyliner at Lakemont the next day.
Steel: Dueling Dragons (IOA): Again, I was expecting alot from these two tracks. Aside from the great queue line, there was nothing special about them. Because they are inverted, the dueling aspect of them only applies to those people in the front seat... in any other seat all you can see is the seat in front of you. They were both too fast paced with one element right after the other. Much prefer Montu at BGT (which I rode the next day) or even Great Bear at Hersheypark (yeah, I know, its short and not a scream machine, but perhaps its a sentimental thing, being at my homepark and all).

Ditto!!
All these msg boards claiming it was the best thing since sliced bread. The launch was not as intense as say Jokers Jinx and the second half, while having an impressive
looking layout, was just blah. Kumba and Kraken were exponentially better.

Wow! I can't believe some of the coasters that have been named on this list. But I understand that you have certain expectations that are not met. Mine would be The Villian at SFWoA. It was a good ride, but I heard people say that this was the best woodie they have been on. So my expectations were very high. I have been on plenty that are much better.
1) Steel Phantom. Kudos for its intensity. It's the only "Top 10" ride that I've walked off and never wanted to ride again. Ouch!
2) Dueling Dragons. How can anyone prefer this kind of ride to the speedy yet smooth Raptor? Its jerkiness is symptomatic of poor transitions between too-closely-spaced elements. And as someone else said, the visuals only work in the front seats. Finally, why did they build it over a junk yard? After 20+ rides, I'm still waiting to experience the magic that some people have talked/written about.
3) Blue Streak (CP)... *post* riding stock change (circa 1999?!). On returning to my beloved childhood home park, I found that they had ruined what was truly one of the finest out-and-back woodies around.
