BGT's brand new Intamin product - looking great so far!

I didn't have any issues with Maverick or Storm Runner, but Ka, which had literally just inherited the I-305 restraints (they were putting the rest on the last train when I was there) dug into my shoulders hard. Maybe it's just those I305 restraints or something, I dunno, but they were painful on Ka.

Otherwise I don't mind them, but like Jeff said, they don't really serve as a restraint.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I agree with you Jeff. On i305 v1.0 I only disliked the restraints because I felt that they were purely cosmetic. The lapbar portion of the restraint pins you to the chair and the top part theoretically shouldn't even touch you but it certainly did when you were twisting back and forth at 90+mph.

I wouldn't be surprised by the return of the neck bars if i305 hadn't swapped them out mid season due to rider complaints.... why bother keeping the annoying style of restraint around after that?

Anyways, the new coaster looks awesome.

Thanks for the info Lost Kause. I didn't want to be on Jeff's bad side like others have been as of lately so I didn't even post the link to the site I seen it on.

As for the restraint issue, I am one of the 99% that doesn't have a problem with Maverick's, but my wife does. She is shorter then I am am and they give her a headache. I personally won't make it down to BGT untill next January, so I won't be one to able to give my impressions on them untill then.

I remember reading somewhere that the Chunt restraints are completely new and have not been used before. They're supposed to be rubbery foam all the way through.

I also read this, and the writer stated that they were more silicone based then the foam based ones on Maverick. Also, these ones appear to be more round in the over-shoulder portion, not saying that that will help to fix the headbanging issue, but it is another difference from Maverick's OTSR.

That's great that some of you aren't bothered by them the way they are, but they certainly hurt me more often than they do not.

I don't think the softness is gonna matter all that much if it's still jabbing you in the neck/head (assuming you're not one of these people that claim there's nothing wrong with the restraints and the rest of us are making it up). Seems like they're just putting a bandaid on the problem that plenty of other manufacturers have solved. Even Vekoma figured out how to use an over the shoulder restraint that conforms to the rider's shoulders instead of their head and neck. Come on, Intamin, get with it!

While I admittedly don't have a problem with the recent Intamin restraints (never said the ones that do are making it up), I still believe that OTSRs in general are no longer necessary, and ultimately wish manufacturers (and I suppose insurance companies) would realize this once and for all. I always felt the Premier coasters are (or were, in Chiller's case) proof that lapbars are sufficient for any type of element.

Man, I'm as bad with the parentheses as gator is with the *asterisks*. :)

Feelin' the love.... :)

I will never say that Chiller 2.O(MG) wasn't scary...freaky-scary. But it was safe. Actually, you just made me recall DVs getting retrofitted with (unnecessary) seatbelts after opening without them....because people FELT unsafe.

...and now I'm getting "parenthetical"... *grin*... ;)

Screamscape is reporting that there may be a problem with the section of track that goes over the sky ride. They are saying that that part of the ride may have to be redesigned.

Apparently it's now not part of Cheetah Hunt that has to be modified to fix this though...BGT apparently have been planning to modify some of the SkyRide towers all-along...

Hold on let me get my boots on here...it's getting pretty deep. Oh look at that! Here is a shovel as well...

I'll add to those who don't know, what CPcisco posted has been updated on Screamscape.
