Best Coaster "Touches"

Heres another nice touch on Beast that I just remembered:

On top of the first lift the chains starts going faster, than slows down while you hear a roar (I just started to notice the roar last season), before speeding up again over the crest of the hill.

I noticed the other day while watching the video of TTD in action that there seemed to be a Tire Sqeal sound and Blue smoke Almost like smoking the tires I don't know if it was intentional but it sure does add to the dragster themeing.
Coasters:Hulks amazing launch going up the hill.Dueling Dragonns que line through the castle.FoF que line.Volcanos awsome flames coming out of it.
Other rides:TR:TR theming is pretty cool.Jurassic Park at IoA's has some pretty awsome theming also.Disney's Aniamal Kingdom Kahali River Rapids is neta whree it feels like your in a rainforest.
Reon,

AE does have only two lifts, who know what I was thinking.

The theming for rides like Batman is very economical because it looks better the less it's cleaned up :). I also like the mine entrance to Ghostrider (formerly the panning for gold attraction).

"I don't need a compass to tell me which way the wind shines."
-Mr. Furious

The spiral cone in the center of Windjammer's helix - that was supposed to simulate a hurricane by using a jet of mist and a spiraling wind effect while the trains whipped through the helix. That was a clever concept (too bad it worked for only a week after it opened
*New CB poster here*
But, I think the way Gwazi starts out is pretty nifty. Down a nice drop and then switching to the "opposing" side of the ride.

If "Ifs and Buts" were candy and nuts, it would be Christmas all the time...
I thought the flags that decorated the lift and first turnaround of Villain were a nice added touch.

The funky light on top of the Phoenix is way cool along with the orange and yellow flags on the lift and turnarounds.

Wood - anything else is an imitation

Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster, at Warner Bros. Movie World is a ride made of touches. As part of an elaborate scam to get more people to Australia, I've decided I need to waste the time to show some of the touches in pictures.

In no particular order (actually, in a pretty rotten order):

The ride kicks off with these gates opening, and your car shooting off into darkness.

This puffy little dude looks over the station. Come to think of it, he looks a bit like the ordinary secretary who for one reason or another has to risk her life by climbing out the window on the 42nd story.

Outside, one of the puffy dude's friends hangs around over the sign all day. The word 'coaster' is what got me the first time I saw it - complete with dull flashing lights, it looks like something right out of 1920's Coney Island (or that episode of Scooby Doo where the gang was chased around by the robot who operated the old guys park).

On the elevator lift, because of the mechanics of the thing, its track widens to allow the two pods to pass each other, which means they tilt riders on the way up. By using rows of lights inside (obviously this was taken slightly before the building was complete), they really emphasis the tilt.

In the main queue building, these guys show signs of a hard night before, along with plenty of other wacky medieval style tidbits (suits of armour whose heads follow you along).

Plus, on the actual coaster section of the ride, you've got the lasers (and then some), which taken an ordinary indoor Mack wild mouse, and turn it into an ordinary indoor Mack wild mouse with green lights (actually, they've got some very nifty effects happening with the lasers - if you're in the neighbourhood, give it a spin).

Here are just a few of my favorites:

Dueling Dragons entire queue

Millenium Force's theme

Hulk's theme

Chaos at opryland was an entire nice touch...thumping bass, scary sounds, and that 80 passenger train. If you ever rode this thing, it's something you havent forgot.

The low flying bats in the Gold Rusher at Kennywood...they actually scare me every time.

The Millenium Force ride Ops: Squishing you where it counts since 2000.
Track Record: 62 coasters at 17 parks.

I thought the music on California Screamin was a nice touch. The sound affects on the Maliboomer were also pretty cool (but the "courtesy shields" really suck).

I love the corny jokes on the signs on Dudley Do-Right at IOA. The fire on Spiderman (when timed right) is a good addition to the ride.

Millennium Force has a theme?
Talon @ Dorney Park-The signs underneath your feet on the lift hill. I thought those to be great ideas, with phrases like "can't turn back", "almost there", and others. I remember there was three or four of them. Other coasters have signs like these, but I thought it was much more unique.

S:ROS @ SFNE-The queve line is in the shape of a S.

------------------
I lost my hat on Poison Ivy. How pathetic.

Superman:Kid of Steel, I never knew that about the line of S:ROS (although I thought the layout was strange). Anyone have a pic from the air that shows that?

Summer 03-CP, HP, SFDL, SFNE, SFWOA, and SFGAm.

There are many touches on California Screamin' like the waves that crash against the train and the music during pre-launch. The carnival style music and the chain noise during the lift hill is great. Another unique touch is the loop going around the mickey face and the lights following the train around the loop!
I'm kinda surprised nobody's mentioned the thumping bass soundtrack played on train dispatch on Nemesis Inferno. That's really neat.

I also rather like the Prepare-for-Air thing on Air at Alton Towers.

I think the Hulk's line theming is cool, but the sounds/music they blast gets rather annoying.

Well, I used to be able to see TTD from my house, then I moved.
Life's not fair.

Look on page one!

I like the strobe effect of the camera in the launch tunnel on Flight of Fear, the splashing effect of the tunnel on Anaconda, the flames on Volcano, the green water at the Mindbender in Gerogia and the lights on that ride, the station effects in the batcave of Batman The Ride, the tracer lights on GASM, the Mantis-looking trains on the Scorcher (the "hood" of the train).

-Vortex Crew 2003-

Oh yea and I love the signs on Nitro that tell you that you're higher than Niagra Falls, the Arc de Triompe, etc....

If Milli Vanilli fell in the woods, would someone else make a sound ?
