I think priority should be given to those who pre-registered if participation is limited because of so many last minute registrations...

That seems fair. How do we separate who's who though?

On-sites will have hand-written name tags. Not saying it's going to happen, just thought I'd throw it out there.

Even though I'm no longer going to be there, I'd have to agree with Bob, pre-pay is a good thing(the only reason I didn't was because there were too many factors involved to keep me from going(and in the end, they workd:().
This is always a great event so I'll do my best to get there. Didn't know until today that I could go.....at least for part of it. I may not make it until 1 or 2, so providing there's no cutoff, can I still register that late? Looks like I'll make the drive regardless.

Gonch,

You, er, we are NOT getting old.....just getting better ;-)

But I agree, spending time in a "laid back" atmosphere for drinks/dinner is more my thing nowadays....usually like a Friday's or Uno's or the like. I am driving up late Friday night after work but will probably crash as soon as I get there. ;-)

I can see the Dokken show being laid back, though. Chances are most of the people that will attend the show will be too old to headbang like they used to. ;-)

Clint, sorry I won't catch up with ya! Sucks about your car, man. :-(

Neuski, Tuna pancakes? That is just.........wrong. ;-)

Beastbuzz is going to ROCK!

Tina: Don't knock tuna pancakes till you have had them. What else is a little Catholic boy going to eat for breakfast on a Friday during Lent?

2 Days...

Oh, I'm good already. I'm not sure I can get any better ;)

How true! But given the nature of the show and the fact that it's in Cincy (no offense to residents of the fine town), I'd fully expect to see more than one lady our age stroll into the show completely retro with zebra striped spandex and big teased hair.

...and that alone would be worth it :)

Ugh... I spent all day doing name tags and stuffing envelopes. What a pain! Stephanie has done this for most events because I had a day job at the time. You'd think being the good code monkey that I am I'd automate this stuff. Perhaps next year!

the TR:TR tour is at 10AM, right? I might now make it until noon or 1

Just a forewarning... if too many on-sites show up, we may have to limit participation...

That's really something you should have told us a while ago. Are you saying that if I show up and try to register on-site that there's a chance I may be SOL?

That's why I will be there early. I didn't preregister because I wasn't sure if I could make it... my first child was supposed to be due around the 24th. She came early on the 13th, and my blessed wife is letting me go to feed my addiction. I'm totally excited about my first coaster event, and looking for some front seat junkies to hang with.

No, John, only you will be excluded.

We'll sell as many tickets as people show up, but the park will at its discretion limit how many people can do the backstage tours if more than 50 people show up on-site (all pre-registrations are in). That's outside of my control.

Jeff - Editor - CoasterBuzz.com - My Blog

I realize that, but it still would have been nice to have that info. beforehand. I'd rather have pre-registered and find out I wouldn't be able to make the event than register on-site and be excluded from stuff when everyone else I'm with has pre-registered.
Cincy reloves around sports. The reds game would be fun if its at home...beautiful stadium... Newport on the levee is something you could do too... Cincy is a pure amuesment park/ sports town. Not many bars or strip clubs yet.
I wonder if the Post article will attract anybody, imagine the look on Jeff's face if 2,345 people show up at the registration window wanting on-site registration......

BTW Jeff - kudos on getting media recognition!

For those coming from out of town, I will be at the Red's game friday night (and I'm a local). They just announced its gonna be Ken Griffy Jr. night, so everybody gets a #500 commemorative poster. That may boost their ticket sales. (For your planning purposes) I'll be up in the cheap seats.....

So, let's say that I am like one of the first ten to register on-site. Then more than 50 people come. Does this mean that the park will allow the first 50 or so on-site registrations to go on the backstage tour, or all on-site registrations lose the ability to go on the backstage tours?

RyanA, I'd assume that we need to figure out just how many people do show up and what the park feels they should do.

Either way, it should be a blast. The last two PKI events were phenomenal, and this one is shaping up to be tremendous. PKI just keeps trying to top themselves. Next thing you know, they will be letting credit whores on Taxi Jam. ;-)

Jeff, I'm also surprised nametags and such weren't made into an automated process. But if I were in your shoes, I probably would have put it off too.:-)

I imagine more people would have pre-registered had they known about the possibility of being excluded from events, or known an article would appear in the local newspaper.
I am packing up, and getting ready. We would be leaving right about now, but my wife had to take a recertification(Hershey Med Ctr employee.) We had to settle on heading that way around 0230 this afternoon.

My son got up at 0600 this morning(normally sleeps til 1000- 1200.) He's more excited than me. Its nice visiting a new park.

Being from the Hershey area of PA, we have a pretty far drive. Looking forward to meeting all of you buzzers. See you there.
