Yeah, I didn't mean for this to get so far off.

I'm still open to ideas for the Friday night before BeastBuzz. Surely, I can't be the only one heading into town the night before.

Just looking for something cool to do.

A quick search on Pollstar turned up Dokken and LA Guns playing in Cinci Friday night if that's your sort of thing Gonchar. It says it's at a place called Annie's. Hmmm you just might get your wish for strippers at that show. Also, Over the Rhine is playing at the 20th Century Theater.

Anyone staying at the TownePlace Suites in Blue Ash?

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
Seriously people, there is nothing to do here. Newport on the Levee is a good distraction. Shadowbox Cabaret is there, which is much more tame than strippers, but is a great show of sketch comedy and rock and roll. You can see what all is there at http://www.newportonthelevee.com/ For a more lively crowd, you need to check out Main Street, which is where all the bars / night clubs are, and if you really dare, hit The Warehouse on Vine St. in Over the Rhine. Here is the best description I have seen.

The Warehouse is like a New York club transplanted into a mild Midwestern city. You'll get punks, goths, moshers, blue collars, businessmen and drag queens all in the same sweaty lot. With a total capacity of 500, the club is divided into two large halls. The first is for pinball, video games, pool and music videos, and the back is for dancing into an altered state of consciousness. An interior of steel girders and other metal objects set the tone for the inner-city madness that channels itself till 4am on weekends. The Warehouse prides itself on being the only place in town to find its unique blend of industrial, techno, house, and drum and bass. Whether it's '80s retro, techno or Euro dance, the club's avant DJs take the crowd into an otherworldly realm.

Well guys, have fun without me, my car broke down and I have to get a new transmission, which, unfortunately, takes precidence over beast buzz....but somebody better write some dang good Trip Reports!

Yeah, I saw that Dokken/L.A. Guns show. I'd probably check it out just for the nostalgia factor and my wife would probably be game too. However, the third party we're traveling with would not be amused one bit. Also, it starts at 9pm and we'll probably roll into the hotel just a little before that.

The Warehouse place actually sounds kind of cool. My only hestitation is that at 31, I'm starting to feel a hair out of place at certain clubs. Getting old before my time, I suppose.

I appreciate the info/suggestions, everyone. I guess Cincy really is as dead as I was lead to believe by looking around online.

Probably just end up doing dinner then finding drinks somewhere relatively laid back.

Thanks, guys.

Aww, I'll miss you Tekno - I was looking forward to signing autographs for you ;) - after 1pm, of course.

Anyone that says there's nothing to do in their own town doesn't look hard enough.

Easy enough to say when you live in Cleveland ;)

Heres a update on weather.

Thurs, Fri - Scattered T-Storms 77*
Sat. 76* Partly Sunny.

This will be my first "coaster" event, aside from the ACE event I crashed at Family Kingdom at Myrtle Beach quite some time ago, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Unfortunately I don't know many people on here, though i've read a lot of posts and actually participated in a few. The behind the scenes events are what sparked me to renew my PKD season pass and pull all kind of strings to get off from work to drive from Virginia all the way to OH again this summer.

Look forward to the scavenger hunt and all of the other events.

As for Friday night? Myself and a friend who i've enlisted to come with me on this trip will be hitting up the park till close for some night rides on Beast and SOB and maybe get some night photography in.

Anyone care to meet up on friday night for some rides? Post in here or email me or something. Or if you make a last minute decision just look for the tall guy with a beard and sandals. :)

Final Question: Can we pick up tickets/badges on friday or do we have to pick them up on Sat???

What was I supposed to put here again?!?!

Just an FYI...I thought a lot of the clubs on Main Street had gone out of business over the last couple of years. I would definitely recommend finding out for sure what's there before making the trip down there...NOT the best part of town, to say the least.

There are a lot of restaurants and a huge RAVE cinema right there by the West Chester Marriott. Also, FYI, from West Chester you are pretty much an equal distance between downtown Cincy and Downtown Dayton, so you may want to head north. I can't remember the name of the entertainement district there, but I know they have one near downtown that has lots of clubs.

I have other plans on Saturday, or else I would have to break my "NEVER go to PKI on a Saturday" rule and come over to the park. I'll probably be there Friday night tho.... My 6 yo was ticked that we had to leave before the fireworks last Friday night (they went off at midnight instead of 10 due to the Xtended Play event)so I promised her we would go this week and stay til midnight if she could make it that late (which, she can).

Everybody have fun!

CoasterBear...Be advised...PKI is doing a Friday night event called Xtended play where the "Action Zone" section of the park will be closing at 7:30 and from that point on will only be open to those who buy a $5.00 ticket/wristband for the event. All the rides are open and there's a DJ...I am thinking it's being geared to the "teen" crowd. If you want to ride SOB, Top Gun, Drop Zone, etc, do it early or buy the extra ticket.

The whole park is open until 12midnight (as I just said in last post) except for HB/Nick Central and Boomerang Bay.

Where and when is on site registration?

9am till 1pm if i remember from the online form...
Thanks, I did not see that on the form. I guess I will just go to guest relations or something. I have never been to PKI or a coaster event before.
As long as I can walk (major sunburn on my feet from being in DC this past weekend), I and two or three others will be joining you all this weekend. I absolutely cannot wait!

Just a forewarning... if too many on-sites show up, we may have to limit participation. It's obviously not practical to have a group of 300 people on a backstage tour of Tomb Raider!

Jeff - Editor - CoasterBuzz.com - My Blog

Not even doing the same tour in two or three different groups? ;)

I think priority should be given to those who pre-registered if participation is limited because of so many last minute registrations...

Certain victory.
