BeastBuzz 2013: The triumphant return!

Almost none of the same people work at the park compared to the last time we had an event there (different owners and all), so while the same rides are there, the event will be different.

In other words,

Jeff S. is worth his weight in gold and Maureen was about as sweet as they come.

Since not everyone has seen Jeff and Maureen "in action":

Jeff has done some great presentations for Schlitterbahn as well. Saturday at ACE's Eastcoaster event, they were ribbing Jeff a bit. Reverend Cliff was asking us to keep Jeff in our thoughts and prayers as he has been having a hard time holding a job. He was at Americana, then Kings Island, Then Schlitterbahn, is currently working for Fiesta Texas and was just announced at the new Marketing Director (newly created position) for ACE.

He was his usual chipper self doing a presentation for Six Flags this year.

I put in a request for days off around the event. I hadn't any thoughts of going to CP this year, but if I somehow make it to BeastBuzz, I'll probably head north for a day or two before heading home. Maybe include Waldameer on the return trip..I haven't been on RFII since my initial and only rides in '09. Not only does the potential nighttime ERT on Beast hold a lot of appeal for me, it'd be cool to meet a coupla CoasterBuzz folks...now, I can count on one hand the number I've met.

That video was hilarious. I never saw it before. I love The Brady Bunch. Haha!

I like the date. If KI is putting in a 2014 coaster.. I do believe this would be around when all the rumors will be flowing and the announcement should be near or already happened using Gatekeeper and Leviathan as comparisons.

So out of curiosity, is Beast Buzz returning as a result of the thread on KIC?

Looks like some fans over there wanted to see it return and restarted an old Beast Buzz thread. Apparently Kings Island saw this (Don Helbig?), and then asked fans if they'd like to see Beast Buzz return on Twitter. Jeff responded via Twitter, and then they set something up?

If so, that's pretty cool. It's further proof that the parks are lurking and paying attention to what's being discussed.

I might have to make this my first CB event if things work out. Saturdays are scary at KI, but I guess there is always Fast Lane...unless Krause is first in line and buys them out.

I went to a event at Canada's Wonderland last year for Leviathan. The event was with TPR. The park gave us all discounts on fast passes with the event price. Jeff do you think you can do something like that? I definitley enjoyed the fast pass experience and would do it again for sure. It would be really cool that would be included with the event.

I don't know what KIC is. We'll work more on details and pricing next week.

Oh sorry, it's Kings Island Central; their forum users posted about wanting Beast Buzz back in September - November. I know Don Helbig regularly posts there and I'd assume controls KI Twitter. I was just wondering if a few fan posts started the chain of dominoes in bringing back Beast Buzz, or if it was just a coincidence. Apparently Beast Buzz was an annual thing for several years until you had difficulty connecting with the new employees after the Cedar Fair takeover?

I assure you, I will only be buying one Fast lane for myself and treating anyone else I bring with me. There will be plenty to go around. Saturdays are crazy at Kings Island that time of year. I'd advise everyone to plan on getting one.

I'd never ever in a million years buy Fast Lane on a day when I'll be part of ERT.

Hell, we've done three or four BeastBuzz events and I doubt we've ridden more than a ride or two during the day outside of ERT at any of them.

If the situation and circumstances were different, this event might have a slightly different name:

I don't normally go to events though, so perhaps I don't know what to expect. I figure if I am at the park for the day, I might as well try to ride everything at least a few times while I am there.

The last time I went to KI was during the BeastBuzz event in '04. The flyers were still around, there was no Diamondback or stunt coaster or the vekoma flyer either. So much has changed for the better. I haven't been back to the park since and this would be a fun opportunity to get reacquainted with an old friend. : ) Here's to hoping I don't put my wallet on top of my truck after a late night of ERT (1am or so) and drive off with it on top of there back to KY. Lost 400 bucks that way and have thought of ways to spend that 400 dollars a million times over. Hope I can make this event!

My family is excited and ready as well. Just hoping maybe Jeff can get them to do a scavenger hunt again :-) That was lots of fun during busy ride time in the day.

Based on past experience, Saturdays at Kings Island are downright unbearable. We use the day to socialize a little and mostly do things we normally wouldn't waste an entire day with at the park. Games, shows, less popular attractions. Everything is slower and less urgent.

Seems to be the best approach for us - don't try to beat the crowd, exist separately from it.

Then end the day with some ERT. :)

I might decide to do two days at KI then. Trying to go on rides during the event might take away from all the hanging out I want to do. :)

Been to a few events over the years. The big trip that comes to mind I like to refer to as, "3 dudes, 3 days, 3 parks." If I remember right, it was in June, 2003. We went consecutive days to CP (on Friday, which I believe was Coastermania); Geauga Lake (on Saturday which was great and hardly any crowd) and Kings Island (on Sunday which was BeastBuzz). You couldn't have asked for a better time and an awesome few days of fun !

Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions !
