BeastBuzz 2013: The triumphant return!

There's a joke in there about nicknaming something "the handrail", but it's just too dirty and I can't do it.

Without being too sappy, Eric & Scott were two of the most genuinely nice guys in the world.

If I could have, I would've married them on the spot.

Well you officially got an "AWWWWWW" out of me when I read this. You're in luck, I love sap!

Thank you very much Gonch. You and your wonderful family were extremely welcoming and friendly to us. You guys are good people!

Shawn: I'd love to see you again at the parks! It was nice chatting with you. Your passion and enthusiasm for parks and coasters was contagious. Started the morning off right!

Chris: I'm an Akron guy! I have to rep the king! I get teased constantly about it at work because I work for a resort in Chicago. So I'm rather accustomed to receiving some "Heat" (I thank you) for my support of LeBron. Nonetheless, happy you didn't see the shirt as it was nice chatting with you!

I didn't meet you guys formally, but we did talk a bit and walked out with you guys. You guys were awesome.

The magic show was fun. Just enough corny, cool and gross for laughs from all ages in the audience. (Where did that duck go?)

Yes. That's the perfect way of putting it.

We got some cool shots (Vortex from behind - Gonch?) of Beast, Diamondback and more, all while working off park food.

I'm not one to kiss and tell, but Tambo and I did indeed get a shot at Vortex from behind.

I was very impressed with the magic show. So much so I'm going back to KI again this week to take my kid to see it. She wasn't able to attend BeastBuzz with me.

I'd be interested in seeing it with the changes for Haunt.

Both Don and Ed himself mentioned that they step it up and make it a little more 'adult' for the Halloween crowd. I imagine it's quite entertaining.

Thank you to Jeff for setting this up and KI (Don Helbig) for putting on a wonderful event. It was good to meet up with some fellow coasterbuzzers. I think that I got around and talked to most everybody during lunch. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.

I've added some picture from the event to the Day in Pictures forum here:

It would have been nice to do a group picture some time during the day but I did get some group shots during the tours.

I look forward to seeing some of you again next year at Banshee Media Day.

I don't post here enough......and that's sad. Because after saturday, I REALLY wish I knew more of you. It was great hanging with my usual fellow nerds and it was great meeting some new ones (yall know who you are). My fake mustache and I can't wait to meet some more of you in the future. Oh, and I know I've already said it a couple times but, you're welcome Josh.

It was an unforgettable day for sure and the park really came through for us. Major thanks Jeff for setting up the event and a major thanks to the park for not only getting us on Diamondback and Beast, but for the surprise construction tour.

Don't mean to laugh at your pain, but I gotta admit, that after a long 16 hour day, hanging back and watching you walk (hobble, gingerly tread, bowleg it) out of the park was exactly the last chuckle I needed.

Glad I could be of service.:)

The sad thing is, you'd figure I would have learned after the 5th time. I'm definitely not going to let it happen when I go to California for Magic Mountain, Knotts and Universal. If it was that bad saturday after walking around KI, I can't imagine the pain after Magic Mountain.

I told you. Gold. Bond. Powder.

Don't worry about Magic Mountain, Adam. By the time you realize you're chafed, your calves will have given out from the steep hills.

Oh, you guys are talking about chafing around the underwear area? I use Bodyglide for this problem. I can't remember who, but someone here on CoasterBuzz told me about it a few years ago, and it works very well for that kind of problem.

Sorry I missed the event. Maybe next time.

Speaking of underwear, Travis, you'll be sorry to know you missed the annual tightie whitie twister contest. I was up against Gonch.

Literally.

And we both ended up winning.

I'm sure Timber-Rider would appreciate a trip report, complemented by a few photos.

Oh, now, you're just being nice. You know I cried "Uncle!".

Only after I twisted your...

...arm.

Ok, admit it. You guys stayed at Timber-Rider's "men only" campsite. Geez, get a tent.

Must not make the easy "pitching a tent" joke.
