Banshee media day at Kings Island

Here's how I'm different in real life:

I'm not going to want to debate coasters with you.

Here at CoasterBuzz I enjoy the debate (some might even call it confrontational) and it's one of my main motivators for visiting the site. I like the discussion.

In real life, I don't want to fight with you about why you're a cheap ass and why VQ won't kill the industry and why $20 for parking is no big deal. That's why I visit this website.

Do you at least wear those cool glasses in real life? I find them...intoxicating.

I'm much taller in person.

Parks tend to frown upon spiked goggles.

Almost like they're aware of my predisposition towards stabbing...

Just so everyone understands, the only reason I made the egg comment, is because I tried to make an honest reply to this subject, and a couple of you started making fun of me. So, in return, I poked some fun back. It seems I can't make a comment without getting jumped on, and when I do the same, the claws come out. Not just on this topic, but other topics too.

If you were to see me at an amusement park, you would quickly find that I mostly move from ride to ride non stop, with very little resting time. So, I can get as much ride time as possible. Stopping only long enough to get some good pictures. I'll find the best priced meal, the most reasonable merchandise, and cringe when I am at Cedar Point when someone in line for Raptor, refers to it as the Batman ride. But, I only smile and listen politely.

Family and friends who go to parks with me, often tell me that I need to slow down, and have the energy of a teenager. I am also impatient with those that drag their feet, and will leave you in my dust if you are moving to slow. I love amusement parks, and even though I am sometimes not happy with the huge crowds, they can sometimes be very entertaining. I get a kick out of stupid. Like the guys I saw riding the carousel, and holding their arms in the air and screaming like little girls.

I am also a bit crazy. I hold my arms in the air in the queue!! LOL!!

I didn't do it! I swear!!

Yeah, you sound exactly like the person I *wouldn't* want to spend my day at an amusement park with.

If I want stress, rushing from thing to thing with little resting time, then searching for a cheap meal to tide me over while I listen to people around me saying stupid things - I'll head into the office.

Perhaps you should consider how what you say draws such responses. You're not a passive participant in such exchanges.

My opinion about online and offline personalities is a lot like Gonch's. I get my fill of amusement park discussion here on CoasterBuzz.

And T-R, I bet you are a cool enough guy to talk to in person. Nobody is perfect. I haven't met a lot of enthusiast-types, but from what I have seen, they all have different personalities, come from different walks of life, have different kinds of families or lifestyles. I get along with everyone, pretty much.

I am well-known by people who know me to have quite a likable personality. I don't know how well that translates on CoasterBuzz. Sometimes I find it difficult to stay extra friendly when combating people in goofy heated discussions about VQ, hotels, and Plinko.

I only get along with people that think exactly like I do, because obviously anyone who doesn't is just stupid and unworthy.

I'm looking forward to meeting Timber-Rider someday. We'll either get along just fine or I'll knock him up side the head, but I'm reserving judgement for now. I'm of the wise opinion that online impressions don't always forecast the real-time encounter.

For instance I cut Shawn Meyer a break and offered to buddy up with him for rides during ERT somewhere. Kings Island, I think, and... wait a sec... now that I think about it, that ended badly. Actually, it ended before we took the first ride...

I like to think I'm the same online as I am in person. I don't take much of life seriously and I enjoy the ride.

In a way I'm like Gonch and don't debate the coasters, but I do debate the business of it. So yeah, I won't be throwing rocks or eggs. Just don't try so hard to fit in and be yourself. One thing I learned in life is that not everyone will like you, so don't try to make someone like you and just be yourself.

I cope with life through humor, so making fun of myself and others is inevitable.

I rarely ever chat online. I mainly just read. The only difference between me online and in person is that my sense of humor has an "R" rating in person (due to perverse content) that is, when women and children aren't present.

Your name isn't Bill O'Reilly of Sean Hannity, is it? :)

Edit: As much as I hate to admit this, I'd probably get along just fine with T-R if I met him in person, but I'd still pick on him for stuff, because that's how I am. (Unless, of course, he was *really* that weird in person - because we know how that works out)

I dunno, you're still friends with me. So he can't be that bad.

Hi

LostKause's avatar

I just booked my room for the Kings Island Resort for two nights. Now I just have to get off work, and repurchase my season pass and CoasterBuzz membership.

The Kings Island Resort is a nice enough place to stay, and the price is really good. The rooms in the main building are a little bit larger than the Motel 6 rooms that I am used to. My room last year was a little outdated but there was not much else wrong with my stay. You can't beat the location across from the park.

I bet opening day Friday will be slow. Aren't kids in school that day?

Yeah, it's the Friday before Easter. I bet most schools are off.

I'm not so sure. Wouldn't schools consider having classes that day to make up for a snowday? My district canceled the day off on President's Day.

Oh, we've had so many snow days here in Ohio I'm not sure what they're gonna do now about trying to make em up.
