Looks like a whole lotta fun if you axed me!

...you forgot to delete your second post! :)

Yes, they're nuts! As I've been saying, they're cheating by having so many Barrel Rolls!

Another link to more info on Atlantis; http://www.coaster-network.com/bm/intamin/atlantis.htm

10 inversions is 10 inversions and I'm an Inversion Fan & would ride Atlantis before you can say "10!" I hope Intamin redesigns their looping trains as the ones on their current champ, Monte Mayaka, are ugly. Scroll down on this link to look at them; http://www.coaster-network.com/bm/intamin/monte.htm Can we hope for Hyper/Giga Trains on Atantis?? With OTSR's if need be.

They don't look THAT bad. Kinda traditional. Kinda like the ones on CA Screamin'. The problem with those cars is the big box-a-ma-thing on the back of each one. I would presume those things house the sound system.

Hey...am I getting off the subject? :)

I see Atlantis as another Intamin attempt at trying to break a record with a weak design.  The previous Intamin record holder for the most inversions has an almost identical layout just with less barrel rolls.  I would rather have a five looping coaster with five different inversions than an ten looping coaster with five of the same inversion.

I get disey just thinking about it.
For some reason I think I would love this coaster, probably because the barrel roll is my favorite element. That's why I loved Volcano so much! I can never get enough barrel rolls!
5 Barrel rolls in a row is boring, unclever, and pretty much cheating just for a stupid record.

I think that this coaster would be a let down to me no matter where it was. I don't understand Intamin's over-reliance on the barrel roll anyway. I highly anticipated Volcano, and was very disappointed due to the fact that they used the same inversion over and over again.

"Whats the point of theming?

UH? The theming is nice for the queue not neccesily the ride. It would be nice in a heavily themed queue waiting for a ride with a huge wait!

California Screamin at DCA. It only has a Virtical loop but hey a loop is a loop!

Ok.... that was weird... Jeff.. there's still some bugs in Forums 5.0..

Let me try to rewrite what I wrote...

Guys! I don't get why coaster enthusiasts whine and b*tch about cloning, similarity, etc.

Do you think the average Joe knows Atlantis: The Ride is a near clone of the one in South America. I think *NOT*!

Also... do you think the average Joe would really care if there's 500 million barrel rolls? Again, I think not!

It's just a matter of engineering - similarity makes engineering much easier - you don't have to recalculate with different formulas and such.

It's also cost. A park chain saves by putting 500 Batman: The Ride rather than having every B:TR unique. Sure, coaster enthusiasts may not like it; however, the GP sure does!

Atlantis, whether a near clone or not, it's yet another roller coaster for me to enjoy!

Actually he said multiloopers, CAS is a single looper. But it would be nice to see a coaster that had a vertical loop, diving loop, tophat, zero g roll, cobra roll/sea serpent, corkscrews, cutback. Make it very compact, to make exciting headchoppers.
