I was reading over at the Thorpe Park Guide
(http://www.geocities.com/tpguide/home.htm) about the new Atlantis coaster being built now by intamin, which will feature a record ten inversions. Now, ten inversions of pacing and variety is one thing, but they are going to have 5 barrel rolls in a row!! I'm not sure if even I could take that. What do you think, is the coaster going to turn into a spin and puke ride, or will it be successful with the GP?

I'd Rather Be Riding Rollercoasters
Yes, I thought the same thing. 5 in a row is a bit much IMO, but, who knows how it will turn out. We'll just have to see.

"Hold on tight, with all your might, and enjoy your flight on the Raven!"
Sounds too intense. I did that once in RollerCoaster Tycoon, though. The peeps loved it, but they aren't real people. As long as the rolls go in only one direction, it shouldn't be too bad, because the Gs will be continous in one direction. But if they go left, then right, right, left, ect... it would be too intence and rough.
edit: I guess that it is all one direction of twists, so it really wouldn't be too bad. All the G forces are in one direction, not alternating. That would be fine with me.

V2, Deja Vu... how can it be better? Add Viper! Oh, wait. It's already there!

In a word. Yes.
Ah, I had wanted the effect of a one word answer. Five barrel rolls. That seems a bit over the edge. I know it would be cool and all, with the floating, but it would also be very, very disorienting.

It's coming...
That is going to be totally awesome. Wow five in a row! I hope I get to ride that thing. THe only down side with that many inversions is that it is going to have tons of restrictions of height age stature weight and other things like that. I know I could take that amount of pressure but what about the little 6 or 7 year old that weighs 50 pounds and wants to ride it. Personally i think it will be cool but a lot of people will not be able to ride it.
Wow. That should be awesome.

May 5th, Gurnee, Illinois...Oh wait! I'll be in Florida. In that case, May 5th, Tampa Bay Florida, "I'm sprinting for Gwazi!"
5 in a row is insane! 10 inversions is insane! They will have to hire janitors just to sit at the Atlantis station and clean up vomit all day!

Wood- 1.The Beast
I wouldn't mind if it was a B&M with 5 Zero-G rolls, a loop, a sea serpent, a diving loop and a flat spin, a 175ft. first drop, and heavily themed, but it's not!

what other inversions do they have. and for some reason inversions dont get me sick, its more of the spinning and sharp turns and i havent ever been sick on a coaster at all so i doubt 3 more(viper@sfmm) would kill me. its probably gonna be a long track. anyone have any more details. only if it was made by b&m. that would be a trip.

SO is this going to be an exact clone of Monte Moyate with just 2 extra barrel rolls, or not.
P.S. I can't wait until these loopers enter the U.S. (I know about California Screamin)

What is life with out coasters, geniuses, and/or SFA
Actually there is a turn between some of the Zero-G rolls.
Are there any intamin multiloopers (sitdown) in the US? I can't think of any offhand, but maybe i am just forgetting. This thing looks like it is going to be very very intense in general. Not so much because it has ten inversions, but because they are all consecutive. There are really no transitions between each inversion, sort of like shockwave at SFGAm, and the ride length looks prety short. I would ride it, but probably would feel a little disoriented when i got off.

I think they did get a bit Lazy in the design of atlantis as it is very much like Monte Makaya
it is infact 4 in a row and one after a 180 degree turn .
The ride will be disorientating but it will be heavily themed. imagine Montus Trenches and some themeing like ummmm.... well Atlantis lol.
Whats the point of theming? You won't even notice it while your going through 5 straight barrel rolls.

Ok....They are NOT 5 straight barrel rolls, they are 4 followed by a curve and another barrel roll!
Where is this being built and when and can someone give me a link to some info about it???

Ver...Ver...Ver...Vertical Veloity!!! I'm getting over stimulated!

This ride IMO looks pretty boring, five of the exact same inversion on the same ride executed consecutively. The 3 consecutive vert. loops on GASM can even get repetitive. This ride might have ten inversions but it just doesn't impress me. Judging from the pictures I have seen of Intamin sit-down loopers, these rides seem to lack anything besides standard inversions. Intamin should scrap these loopers and focus on their new woodies (Colossus looks awesome).
