Any interesting news from No Coast Con?

Shaggy,

Then I take back my criticism (for lack of a better word) of the lack of screening done by his chaperone; I didn't notice it, but I wasn't watching for it either.

EDIT: As a side note, I am not defending CPNut, etc., but how is it "OK" to slam on CPNut but not that kid from NCC? How do we know CPN doesn't have the same issues?

I can tell you for a fact that Octoberfest Gardens will not transform into a "Bubba Gumps Shrimp Shop." Sean can back me up on that one.

Yes, I will back you up. Bubba Gump's Shrimp Shop won't be at PKI next year.

It's close... but not exact.....

Very close indeed!

-Sean (who also has no doubt that Scooby will be the hit of the year at PKI next year) F.

P.S. Anyone want to see pics?

The Beast sign did go for $700 Scott. According to Carol Sanderson, it was the highest priced auction item sold in ACE's history.

I am not sure if that is totally accurate. Didn't a Dorney Laser car go for at least $1,000 a couple of years ago?

Also there was a King Cobra instructional sign that hung in the station underneath the driver's booth. It was the one that instructed riders on how to place themselves in the restraints. It sold for $75 I think, to Charlie Jaques... the gentleman currently writing a historical KI book.

I wanted that sign REALLY bad. I wish I could have at least held it one time. Oh wait......

According to their website, a similar establishment at PKD is called "Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack". How close is that??

Your getting warmer.... close but no cigar on the "Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack." ;-)

redman822...... Not really sure who CPNut is. I don't recall slamming him. Is this someone that has gotten ribbing here or something? I typically try and keep in mind that there are people from all walks of life reading and posting here, so I am VERY choosy with my posts. That is why I check peoples "Info" to get a better idea of the age bracket I am dealing with.

OK then. There is a chain of restaurants known as "Bubba Gump Shrimp Co." Am I warmer now??

More importantly, will I be able to get a farewell bratwurst in April?? :)

So why is everyone sold on "Bubba Gump?" ;-)

I doubt changes to a certain food stand, in a certain area of the park, that sell a certain "themed" food will be ready in time for park opening. I would suspect that the final "esthetic change" will take a bit longer to complete.

Shaggy or Sean,

Is Stuntmen's Grille in Action Zone being turned into a Bubba Gump restaurant?

It's not too far from Oktoberfest Gardens which you have already stated is out of the question.

Can someone explain to me what the video was that SFGAm showed and what it showed, explained, etc...? Thanks.

Restraining orders are just another way of saying I love you.

This was my first no coaster. Although i've been to eastcoaster, coasterbash, and etc.... I had a great time. The said gentleman was interesting to say the least. What I thought stole the show besides the amazing presentation of Edgewater Park ( i'm still amazed) was PTC's Tom Rebbie. He was outstanding. He is by far the my favorite owner in the industry. It also doesn't hurt that he has the best rolling stock in the business. Especially his reply about the hitched trains. Also I enjoyed the two guys from Arnold's Park. They were already on my itinerary for this summer. Now, I'm really excited to visit the park. Also big props to all the goodies that the parks went out of their way to give us. If I wasn't poor that Beast sign would have been mine!!!!!!!!!! All mine!!!!!

No Stuntman's Grill is not being turned into a Bubba Gumps.

I never said that Octoberfest Gardens was out of the question......

Yes Sean!! Yes Shaggy!! We want to see those pictures! :)

As for the new restaurant, I have no clue right now. Their biggest movies of 2002 came from Ben Affleck thrillers, We Were Soldiers, Orange County, Jackass, and Britney Spears, but I don't see a restaurant spin-off from one of those. Star Trek is possible, but I have plenty of doubts.

What the heck?! I'll think classic and go with it being themed to The Godfather. ;)

-Danny, who thinks a restaurant themed to Titanic would be much more disturbing than that
