Any interesting news from No Coast Con?

Did PKI, or any other park, say anything new that was intersting? Also, did PKI say what the height requirement for Delirium will be? I seem to remember that they anounced the height limit for TR:TR at No Coaster Con.
I wasn't there but would assume the height limit is the same as TR:TR seeing how the seats are probably the same. That is just a guess since the same company made both.

Wow February 4th for Media day! Do you mean February 4th is the day SFGAM is going to announce the ride. My understanding of Media day is the day when they allow the Media to ride the coaster before it opens to the public. Also Shockwave is homeless. That sucks. I thought for sure they were going to move it to another park but maybe they will wait till next year and work on reconditioning the ride over the summer. Also did SFGAM say anything if the new coaster will create a new themed land or if it will just have an entrance off of Orleans Place like Shockwave?

SFGAm will announce on Feb. 4th. Media day is going to be on May 1st.

Also, during a game called "Ace Feud", there was a question to name the coaster clubs based on responses from 100 ACErs...#4 was CoasterBuzz, Behind Coaster Zombies, ACE, and GOCC.

What was really funny is the team who had the question couldn't think of Coasterbuzz, included Shaggy, Shivering Tim and Sean F!!! :)

I will say one thing is that this was probably the single LONGEST No Coaster Con I have been too. Also one of the most fun. I think most people if not all had a great time. Also if you are an ACE'r or know one this is one of those must attend events (especially since it is one of the few in the winter).

I really enjoyed the segments from Arnolds Park and Beech Bend. (I have not been to either one.)

Also PKI confirmed the 3rd attraction was Sponge Bob in 3D.

Hey Tim, at least you didn't get a question that claimed that the Texas Giant and Texas Cyclone were steel coasters!

WOOD: It does a body good.

PKI got a new logo too.

Farewell Energy 92.7 & 5 FM, you will be missed more than Shockwave. (Did I just say that? YES!)

PKI is also getting......

Oooooops, I shouldn't say ;-)

Actually PKI said there are other park esthetic changes that have not, nor will be announced. The RIDE additions are Scooby, Delirium and Spongebob. Contrary to rumors here and elsewhere, there is not a wild mouse or waterpark attraction coming next season.

On a side note, Scooby Doo WILL be the hit of the year. Although Delirium is mammoth (got an up-close view Friday) Scooby is incredible! Got a sneak peak and I have to say it blew me away even though I have ridden two of the other Sally Scooby rides. The attention to detail in this thing is beyond words! The exterior is coming along, and the park has a scale model of the facade. People have no idea how elaborate it is.

Expect loooooooooong waits for it.

Shaggy

P.S. You have no idea how hard it is to come up with answers to Coaster Family Feud questions when put on the spot. They could have asked me to name my favorite park and still I would have blanked ;-) I will say I was lucky in that my trigger finger was fast on the buzzer for the final question! I was most nervous about that.

Also, it was confirmed that The American Eagle will run the blue side backwards again next year.

Yes, but she did suggest that we get there early in the season if we wanted to ride backwards. She said a decision has not yet been made if it would run backwards all year.

Laugh your troubles away at Riverview, the world's largest amusement park.

Riverview Mike,

They said the same thing last year at NCC, too...hopefully ridership will remain high enough on the blue side to keep it that way all season again...

I agree and remember that one too. It will remain backwards as long as they deem it to be necessary for them to do that. I have a feeling that this time it may stay that way for a while since it lasted all season last year. But then again I could be wrong.

PKI wouldn't happen to be doing something with the fountains and changing Oktoberfest Gardens to Bubba-Gump Shrimp Company would they (I've heard things about Subway as well)?

I've not heard anything else about tunnels on SOB. Anyone else?

....and that would be the reason why we lost that game, who in their right mind would say a wood coaster as a guess for a question that specifically asks for TEXAS STEEL coasters. We were shafted but at least the team we played didnt win. :) Congrats to the A-listers, who probably wouldve beaten us anyway!

SFGAm Viper

Nonetheless, Andrew, it was a pretty fun activity. Definately the highlight of the day. And yes, Sean Shaggy and co. probably would've whomped us back into the Ron Toomer era. Next time we need to think of a better name. Any suggestions?

WOOD: It does a body good.

Koaster King, they are indeed renovating the Royal fountain this year, as Shaggy has stated before (though I think it was on another PKI site). I`ve also heard a rumor of transforming Oktoberfest Gardens, the restauraunt across from the entrance to Adventure Express into a Bubba Gump`s Shrimp Shop. I`ve also heard that Subway will be replacing the Sweet Tooth next to the Racer. I hope that these aren`t true though. I haven`t heard anything about tunnels on Son of Beast. I would like tunnels to be built on Son of Beast but I don`t think there will be tunnels on it this year.

Thanks coastersrz. I wasn't sure if there had been mention of the Royal Fountain renovations on CB or not. I would like to see Bubba-Gump Shrimp Shack at PKI, but definitely not Subway taking place of The Sweet Tooth (it can take It's Fried! though for all I care ;)). Thanks again for your comments.
