But back on topic, Bakeman, yes, I do honestly feel that this ride is working the way it should, and was designed to roll back in high winds, cold temperatures and other adverse weather conditions ... and so does 99% of this board and 100% of the folks working at CP and Intamin. Notice the word adverse, that means not normal, not usual and not what should be designed for normal operating conditions. The problem with the downtime on rollbacks and such has nothing to do with the launch system and you can't just add to a ride to make it work! Nothing in this world works that way (and if you tell me I'm not an engineer again, I'm gonna personally come thru the computer and cream you - I've been filling my head with Engineer In Training review for the last 14 hours straight so don't give me that). The entire problem with TTD's downtime after rollbacks is 90% (from my experience) with the block right before the unload platforms. For whatever reason when they have to roll the trains back to reset the launch, that block forgets what position it was in, it won't let the train on the brakes advance, and bingo, there's your downtime until that block is cleared. Rollbacks are not a problem, this ride needs no further modification, the physical structure is as near to perfect as a 420', 120mph ride is going to be. The problems are all computer related and will be worked out in the offseason. Now, *you* go try and be an engineer and in three or four years after you've learned you can't put heavy friction tires, or massive LIMs 420' in the air on a whim, get back to me about TTD's rollback problems - I'll be in line for one of the most reliable coasters on the planet for its technology level ...
I now designate Bakeman as Stiny from now on and request that he get me a danish ...
Sean: I gotta contradict ya there buddy - I was there Sunday too and there was one train that rolled back with people on it that I saw - yellow rolled back just after a shutdown at ...geez I think it was maybe 2 or 2:30 in the afternoon. I was in line for Maggie and my gf's Mom was in the grandstands watching it, but in your defense it was the only one all day with people in it that I saw ;)

By the way, drive tires fail in rain and LIMs use to much energy and can only be put on straight track

You sure there wasn't a Twister lap somewhere in there? ;)

I am 100% positive. No other rides other than Dragster. We did walk down towards Wicked Twister to see about getting some food at Macaroni's, but they were closed when we went and checked so we walked into Midway Market to get something quick to eat. Someone in the group suggested we should ride WT but once we reached the ride area, we turned around and went towards Raptor. I did ride WT the weekend before though.
Now, if a rollback occured during the 20 minutes I was in there, then my original post still stands. 'I' didn't see one, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen, Sorry for the confusion. However, I was in line between 1:45 and 2:30pm and while the ride did go down, it wasn't because of a rollback. It had something to do with one of the braking fins on the launch section.
