Another Reason Why You Should Attend Coaster Mayhem!

How much of the ride is to be retracked? Pretty much everything after the chain disengages to the brake run is in bad shape. *** Edited 5/9/2006 3:20:03 AM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

The really bad parts have already been addressed - bobs turn and entrance to the belix. They have been adding a lot of bracing as well which should help the overall ride. I'm not sure how much will be retracked, but it is supposed to be quite a bit. "Enough to be noticeable" is what I have been told. :)
<<<Not a fan of TW.. right Matt? Can anything really help this coaster out? They have let it go for sooooo long!

The Golden Rule - Try it once and if you don't like you don't have to go on again!
The last retrack according to Jeff Mast was 94-95, if I remember what he said correctly.

Hopefully they'll get it right someday and Craig will know why I love Timber Wolf.

'94 sounds 'bout right. The accident that forever changed TW happened soon after the retracking if memory serves. Or was it the colission that occured soon after the retracking? But I think that happened closer to '90 than '94. Maybe there was a prior retracking? It's been so long.

Back to the present--all of the turns need redone. The track guage is too lose. I can live with the rough spots at the bottom of hill. It's the awful shuffling from side to side through the turns that really kills the ride, ignoring the trim brake of course. *** Edited 5/9/2006 4:27:41 AM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

Also update on the progress made on Timber Wolf. They have retracked the bobs turn, the entrance to the helix and as well as the first drop. The ride will be worked on again this week and I have will be closed again this coming weekend.

You are overstating the amount of retracking that has been completed. Some wood has been replaced in these areas, but the first drop, for example, has not been retracked.

I rode Timber Wolf this past weekend. It hasn't really improved much yet.

As of right now there are about 70 people pre-registered for the event. If you have not pre-registered you have until 18th to get your form in (or call). Please do so as I want there to be a large turnout for this event so that it will continue and become an annual event.

Just called in yesterday with 4 more, see you next Saturday.

RailBlazer, if you could not feel the difference going into the helix, I'm not sure if you will ever feel a difference.

Sounds great crazyforcoasters -- look forward to seeing you there.

Do you know if they will be doing a group photo? I think that would be cool to commerate the 1st ever Coaster Mayhem.

I would imagine. That is the kind of thing that is done at these events. :)

Matt, bring me something from Zinger when you come to HWN and I'll make it worth your while... :)

Anton, Anton, Anton!

I wish I still had my Zinger t-shirt. It got ripped while playing basketball :(

You rock, Matt...sorry yours is gone, Myne is still giving it a go. Catch those Antons while you can, kids, they're leaving us WAY too soon...

RIP Thriller/Zonga...

Meanwhile, WoF, which I really believe was the most friendly of CF parks, has added a couple real good goodies since I was there. Is it time to get some cinnamon BBQ? ;)

Matt, I would imagine that there would be a possibility of OE stuff. If not they have OE T-shirts on clearance for $5 (I think that was what they were going for). All I know is that there is some cool stuff being given away.

Bill you really should go. Who cares if you are going to another event the next weekend. ;)

Another good reason is the fact that I'll be there. ;)

The OE stuff that I've seen recently is the T-shirts and tank tops (Swoosh is right about the price, $5) along with magnents. I haven't seen any Zinger stuff in years.

As for the original good reason, I took a couple of rides on TW over the last weekend and it is improved. The front row and back row provided some of the best rides I have had in years.

I noticed the $5 OE shirts on opening day. I still have my OE cap from about 1989.

When I said OE / Zinger memorabilia, I was meaning like actual ride artifacts like wheels and chain dogs and signs and stuff like that. Hope there's some cool goodies like that up for grabs. *** Edited 5/10/2006 11:14:52 PM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

I don't think that there will be anything like that.

Let's hope that I'm wrong though.
