Another Reason Why You Should Attend Coaster Mayhem!

I received this from Nick Guevel today...

"Timber Wolf was closed this weekend (April 29, 30), but should be open this weekend (May 6, 7). For the last two weeks, we have been working on a massive retracking that should be complete by the time we go full-time (around may 15). The work is being done by an outside organization that specializes in this type of work. A little later than originally planned, but happening! I am extremely excited and from the sound of it, Timber Wolf should run like new once the work is complete."

So if you haven't decided to go yet, this SHOULD help in that decision.

Considering the work done to RWB, and *this* little item (dated 11/05): ;)

I think this may be the responsible party for the work....and if so, GREAT news for T-Wolf. :)

I believe it is too. I think this is excellent news for the old girl as she was getting pretty rough around the edges and needed a makeover. :)
Yes, T-Wolf was getting quite rough. I rode it just once on opening day last month, hoping that they haven't forgotten about this thing! Well it's awesome to hear that it will be running good for Mayhem, i'm going now for sure.

Great make sure that you try to find us (MiG) that day. If you miss us at the ERT sessions at least say hi during lunch.
Cool, Excallabur is getting a makeover too.

I'm going to have to see this to believe it. Timber Wolf is very dear to me. Ok, I guess I'll go to Mayhem.

Swoosh, I missed you at opening day. Once I get locked in, let's arrange a meeting. If Timber Wolf is in fact running anywhere close to "like new", I will be riding it most of the day. So if all else fails, look for the guy that looks like me, riding Timber Wolf all day and night. :)

While I am hoping for the best, how can they retrack the whole ride in about two weeks? On opening day, none of the track felt "like new."

I count four weeks - how are you getting two?

Sounds good on the meet up. I think I will have my MiG polo that day.

2 weeks from Saturday is May 20, which is when the event is right?

Am I missing something too unless you're counting April to May where as Matt is counting this weekend to the 20th? *** Edited 5/4/2006 7:49:10 PM UTC by crazyforcoasters***

Sorry, I wasn't doing any math. I thought I read it was down for 2 weeks or something. Still, even four weeks seems like a really short time.

I don't spot people in a crowd very well (bad eyes), so you may have to walk right up to me and say hi. :Check out my profile pic. I stand out. :)

It shouldn't be hard to figure you out. Most likely I will be wearing a Dream Theater shirt or a Vikings shirt.

Put your finger on April 24th and then count the number of weeks until May 15th. That is about 4 weeks. They started work on the 24th and thus will have 4 weeks to complete the retracking.

Hope all goes well. It's been in a very sad state for too long. Hey Swoosh, do ya think you could use your super powers to convince the park to run the Wolf trimless during ERT? :)

Matt,

Swooshdaddy's website says other surprises in store, maybe this is one of them?

Please, don't float the no trim TW idea unless it's going to happen. You know my thoughts on this ;)
I'm not sure what all is in store for the event, but I will say that they some of the prizes for the raffle are really cool -- and if I don't win one of the things that they are giving away that I really want I will beat down the person who does. I have no idea what I would do with it, but I want it. :)

Bill, the park is not at liberty to say who is doing the retracking, but I do think that is the company that is doing the work.

Matt, thanks for giving me so much credit. ;) Have not heard either way, but I hope so too.

LoL I want to go..... I might have to make something happene myself as long as it don't get me fired.
As of right now there are about 70 people pre-registered for the event. If you have not pre-registered you have until 18th to get your form in (or call). Please do so as I want there to be a large turnout for this event so that it will continue and become an annual event.

Also update on the progress made on Timber Wolf. They have retracked the bobs turn, the entrance to the helix and as well as the first drop. The ride will be worked on again this week and I have will be closed again this coming weekend.
