Another personal question for Jeff

One thing I find funny about 8 Mile Road is that people (from my school at least) seem to make a big deal out of going south of it. For example I was driving with a friend southbound on Gratiot, and crossed over 8 Mile. Almost immediately, he started to panic and make a big deal out of it. I didn't really get it - just use common sense and don't be a dumbass.

A funny thing about that 'stereotype' too is that some people from my school think they're so 'hardcore' since they live right next to 8 Mile. :)

You know, I have never been down there and I never plan to. I think I'll just stick to my house off Farmington and Maple.

How can you stick both feet in your mouth while your head is stuck so far up your backside? How? Send us photos. We need proof.

Good lord, CPnut just doesn't get it, does he?

This is mind boggling......

But what if CPNut *does* get it, and the joke is on us all? ;)

Possible, Chris, but either way, he's just making himself look bad.......really bad....

I don't think you can really be that stupid on purpose. It has to be hard-wired in. :)

Real killer is how proud he is of himself, as if where you live defines who you are as a person.

Farmington and Maple is so 15 years ago...wait a minute, maybe in his case, it actually does. I knew people who grew up in that area that were every bit as Dooooiiiiiieeee.

'Playa,

I think you're right. Perhaps we have finally found the answer to CPNut's "problem".

When I used to live in the Detroit area, I used to work in that neighborhood...Farmington and Maple is in the middle of West Bloomfield, so he probably has a case of silver poisoning from the silver spoon stuck up his arse...just like a large percentage of the rest of the spoiled little brats in that vicinity.

Thanks Great America!

In all fairness, I knew a lot of level-headed cool people from the area along with the morons.

People are intentionally taught to be that stupid--usually by image-conscious, trailer-trash parents who can barely afford to live where they're living. I'd have to say CBaby is more brat than hoodrat and sometimes I'm shocked at the things she accepts as commonplace and normal....

CBaby's friend: You all have your own computers?

CBaby: Doesn't everybody?

...but on the other hand, I've never taught her to look down on other people. I take her with me to the city and have done so since she was young. Everywhere I go, people are still made of skin and breathe air.

Wow. Now we've got humor and a lesson in family values. It's like a CoasterBuzz after school special.

CPNut,

Please give me more info on where you live. You are about 15, right? I can't wait for us to be the best of friends.

And I REALLY like the fact that you claim to be a boy.

I just found out that I live within 10 miles of CPnut. Interesting. In fact, I am within 3 miles of him on almost an every other day basis.

Also, Jeff had a good observation. The 8 mile divider between Detroit and Gross Pointe is amazing. You can stand in the middle of 8 mile there and look at run down, rotting houses on the Detroit side. Then you can turn around and see brand new 1.5 million dollar homes.

By the way, I volunteer with the youth in the inner-city. It is really not that bad. Just keep your car doors locked, and never look directly at anybody. :)

Do the Moo Shoo!

I grew up on the West Side and always keep my doors locked. Just a habit.

It drives me crazy whren Playette goes to work and leaves the front door of the house unlocked all day. Nothing's ever happened, but still...
