I don't have to much to complain about though, my home park is getting America's first flying coaster
No it's not. Stealth was the first flying

Well, he's wrong. (Like they train security in the working of the rides!) They are for rollbacks, which happen quite often. Ask 2Hostyl about it!
Have you been to PKD? ever watched it go up the hill? i went on it 10 times last season and spent alot of time watching it while i was in line. in slows down alot after the brakes on the hill. did 2hostyl mention that the brakes also activate everytime that the train goes up? you can hear them slow the train down, and then release. you can also get the video from starcoasters.com and watch it. the train slows down alot before the top.
and to you other people, i am happy that PKD is getting something other than nothing and i am looking forward to riding it opening weekend, but at the time of the annoucement, i wanted anything big i could get w/o asking my parents to drive me everywhere. being 15 limits how much i get to do(not to mention im the only rider int he family). in all, i have been to SFA, BGW, IOA, and PKD.
dont critisize me for hoping that another intamin or B&M might come this way. i was just asking if anyone else was hoping for something and got something else. i wasnt expecting every critic on coasterbuzz getting on me for asking a question.

Sorry, man. That's incorrect. I rode it MANY, many times. Yes the train slows down a lot at the top, but that's thanks to our little friend gravity along with a 90 degree incline. I have many close up pics of Hypersonic going up the hill, and the brakes are very WIDE open. I have seen the brakes used twice in my many rides and long hours in the queue. That was for rollbacks. They were LOUD and very obviously used. A few of us here have been on it during a rollback, and the brakes are extremely obvious when used.
If you doubt me, answer me this: (I'm sure Rideman would back me up!) Why would S&S go to the extreme hastle of weighing every single train so the computer can calculate the precise amount of thrust delivered to the shot tanks, and then have the perfect speed for the crest? The same goes for Dodonpa, which I have also seen.
A security guard, Lemon Chill guy, or whatever never give out correct info like this, especially concerning rumors. If an S&S guy said it, I'd be convinced.

God please let SFKK get something in 2002. ANYTHING!!

Planned Parks for this summer: CP, SFWoA, SFGAm, SFKK, PKI, MA, SFStL, HP, KW, SFMM, KBF. Is 11 enough?
A big let-down would be what happened in case of a rollback on H:XLC WITHOUT those brakes...sometimes I even make myself smile...
But when it comes to announcements, realize in advance that your park is trying to appeal to a WIDE range of tastes, it's just good business. A park that ONLY appealed to extreme thrill-seekers and built WILD rides would draw all of US, but we really can't keep a park alive - they need those folks who consider the train ride thrilling. Then, when your park announces your brand new S:RoS, it's all gravy...
I can't believe how many of you people are completely missing the fact that the security guard was right in that a new coaster was built in 2002.
Also, Peabody you forgot to factor in the wind jamming trains so that there would need to be a greater amount of thrust issued in order to get over the hill. Now, would it make more sense for them to try and calculate wind speed everytime the wind changed or would it make more sense to put brakes near the top to slow the train down if there is too much thrust?
Also you folks are also forgetting that Hypersonic has rolled back before, which kind of negates the whole anti-rollback theory.

When I read for rollbacks in my 4:00 am stupor I was thinking Anti-rollbacks. My fault Peabody, but at the same time I got to think it'd only make sense for that brake to be set up to trim the speed of the coaster, and make sure it doesn't ram into any trains at the station

Please don't bash me for this but I also think WT is a let down just because SFWOA is so close and has Superman. Personally I don't think 40 ft ( I Think thats the difference ) and 2 mph difference is that amazing.
CP needed a shuttle impulse type it's a coaster that fill most of the voids (launch, vertical drop, and the first coaster to go backwards, and CP first non full circuit). I've never rode an Impulse and I'm looking foward to it. To say I'm a little disappointed is an understatement. It seems a little crazy to use that great footprint on an Impulse. Especially when you consider Knott's Xcelerator. I would have love to see an Xcelerator/mega looper hybrid.CP could have cut into the employee parking lot a little or built a 4D or CCI out and back that long narrow stip of land next to the parking lot stretches for quite a long distance.I just feel that the price tag for an Impulse is just tad too much and the space could have better accommidated a more interesting coaster.I know this is an unpopular thing to say,but hell I'm not on CP's payroll. So who cares.....
If CP wanted this sort of coaster I think that the Premeire version seems superior since premeire has modified their trains. Coaster Entuisast are praising Batman/Robin @ SFGADVR and the Paramount's Flight of Fear.
