I'm fairly certain SFWoA counts the lake in their area. Consider the following maps at the same scale:
CP SFWoA. Even with the lake I question the validity of that claim.

The Disney property is easily the largest. SFGAdv certainly is big, especially with the animal areas. My next guess would be Busch Williamsburg, but I might just be thinking about all that hill climbing.

Well if you are going to take into account all of the land that SFGAdv OWNS (which is all that woody stuff and Wild Safari) then you must consider all the parts of Orlando that are consumed by Mickey....

So rather than play "who can one-up each other with technicalities" let's play "which is the biggest damn park" ;)

-----------------
Quoth the Jaguar...."Check"

PKI when Taft bought the land purchaced 1600 acres, However that was on both sides of the highway. The park itself has about 400

Disney property in orlando I think is some 14,000 acres.

Americana (Now called The great americana amusement park at Lesourdsville Lake) is opening in 2002. Indivdual visits are very improtant to the parks survival.

Ok then...give it to the dern rat with the big ears. Disney is the largest then. Yellowstone though...i rode a burro ride there...Disney had one...is Yellowstone a theme park then? They gots dem animal things too...hehehe. Couldn't help it...had to do it. :)

"On as side note, although i don't consider this a true theme park (more of a cross between a zoo and a theme park), The San Diego Wild Animal Park is 1800 acres. There are over 3500 animals. It is really an experience going on the 5 mile long monorail and feeling like you are in africa and asia. Here's a picture. I think the zoological society actually owns an additional 2000 acres just to be conserved for native animals."

yeah they said (i dunno if they say it anymore) that the entire San Diego Zoo including parking lot would fit inside one of the habitat thingys (don't remember which)

Also, an acre is known as 4,840 square yards. That's a square with fours sides each measuring 4,840 yards so you know.

Just for comparison:

Adventure Dome is a 5 acre indoor theme park

Galaxyland is a 9 acre indoor amusement complex

Cliff's Amusement Park is 15 acres

Americana is a 22 acre park

Kennywood is a 46 acre park

Six Flags Elitch Gardens is 56 acres

Noah's Ark is a 65 acre water park(Noah's Ark claims to be the the "Nation's Largest Water park." I beg to differ.)

Hershey Park is 90 acres

Holiday World is a 100 acre park

Paramount Great America is a 103 acre park

Dollywood is 100 acre park(Not including new water park)

Six Flags Magic Mountain is 143 acres

Knotts Berry Farm is a 150 acre park

Worlds of Fun is a 170 acre park

Six Flags Magic Mountain is 183 acres

Six Flags over Texas is 205 acres

Six Flags World of Adventures is 281 acres

Paramount Canada Wonderland is 300 acres

Lake Compounce is 325 acres(most of those acres is the mountain which the park does not build much on)

Six Flags over Georiga is 331 acres

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is 335 acres

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is 360 acres

Cedar Point is a 364 acre park

Paramount Kings Island is a 421 acre park

Six Flags Great Adventure is 475 acres(actual theme park is 125 acres with the addition of 350 acre Animal Safari)

Universal Studios Escape is a 580 acre resort

Six Flags Darien Lake Resort is 1,500 acres(billed as Six Flag's only complete resort. Theis total area also includes onsite 2,000 site campground, 165-room hotel, 20,000 seat amphitheater, RV rental area, and Barracuda Bay. This is currently New York's largest recreational complex all owned by Six Flags.)

Walt Disney World is 30,000 acres

Note that all stats above include water park if adjectant to or inside of the park

This information is al confirmed from The Amusement Park Guide and AAA.

actually... a square that big would be 4840 acres(23,425,600 square yards) ... 1 acre would be a rectangle 4840 yards by 1 yard (or any other dimensions/shape with an area of 4840 square yards)

Valleyfair is about 125acres total. But the whole park is about 85acres which is the current land they use. Also behind Thunder Canyon and Excalibur they have about 40acres of undevolpe land but dont use it because of flooding. I think Valleyfair covers about 250acres total if the math is right.

Valleyair Security 2002! 8Years Working at Valleyfair :)!

All American parks - what about Alton Towers. It has masses of gardens included in the park. And it takes ages to walf from X-sector to the forbiden valley.

Any clues to its size

Don't argue with Wisconsin Dells. It's a tourist trap, so they have the right to lie about anything! ;)

If I'm not mistaken Kings Island does have over 1200 acres of land, if your counting land used it's a different story.

Wow, BGW is a few acres smaller than CP? I would've never guessed. Did I mention the hills make that place seem huge? ;)

Noah's Ark is not the largest waterpark. yesterday i looked us acreage for the disneyworld parks and Blizzard Beach uses 66 acres. I'll provide a link in a second.

I never knew that Kennywood was that small! :( They did alot in 40 acres!!!

if you count WDW you must count all SF parks because its pretty much the same idea... DL is only 50 acres which is pretty surprising. You would have to count Geauga Lake as part of SFWoA, since its pretty much a huge theatre for the Batman Ski Show. SFWoA actually uses that "land/water" unlike PKI which doesnt use it

-----------------
HurricaneGeauga- Just in case

SFGAdv only uses 150 for the park itself, 45 acres for Hurricane Harbor, 350 for the safari. They own an additional 1,500 outside of what is already used.

You're not argueing with me. You're argueing with Webster's definition. Go present your case to them. According to them a sguare acre is 4,840 yards by 4,840 yards. 4,840 to the second power is not multiplying it by one. If you want to have a math battle then be aware that I did rank 9th for the Western Division Math & Logics Contest.
