ACE Coaster Landmarks

Revolution was honored not just because it was the first looping coaster, but because of it's significance in the history of ACE. The movie "Rollercoaster" highlighted Revolution, and was instrumental in bringing some enthusiasts together for the first time, and shortly thereafter, ACE was born.

And for the same reason, Rebel Yell probably will be honored in June at the CoasterCon.

I was waiting for somebody to announce Rebel Yell.;)

Not necessarily up-to-date on my netiquette, but shouldn't that be Rebel YELL...;). The first wooden coaster I remember riding, on the same trip as King Kobra turned my world upside-down....good times!

Which one was in the Brady Bunch? Wasn't it the Racer at KI, or was it Rebel YELL at PKD? The Brady Bunch immediately qualifies any coaster for classic landmark status.;)

That was Racer....funny that it was called "The Coaster" in the show though, huh...;)

"Watch out for those blueprints, Yogi!"

What about SFGAm's Shockwave, the first coaster to be split and redesigned into two coasters at two separate parks?

I thought Lightning Loops at SFGAdv was the first to qualify under that "special designation", 'Moosh....;)
But that was two tracks, gator. The Shock/Wave project is completely different.

Rebel Yell, Magnum, maybe Millennium Force, X, the corkscrew at KBF like bigkirby said (now located at Siverwood Theme Park in Idaho), Matterhorn, and B:TR (the first one).

BTW, Leap-the-Dips, Cyclone, and Revolution have all already been chosen as Landmarks and have the ACE Landmark plaque right in front of them. I was there for 2 of the presentations.

Six Flags, the only chain of parks that can manage to have stacking with a one train operation.

Thanks for setting 'Gator straight, chris. I hear women have been trying to do that for years now ;-)

Nah, they didn't have to TRY, 'Moosh, I was just born this way....always been straight, never been narrow....:)

*zing*......everybody's got a goon but me...:(

I'll be your goon, Gator! Now, what does the job entail?

P.S. Still waiting for some So Cal TR's, Mr. Gator.

Goons to everyone, then!

Magnum: Started the hyper-thing.

Matterhorn: Obviously.

Loch Ness Monster: I'm amazed ACE hasn't plaqued this one yet, considering it was the site of the first group photo.

Zippin' Pippin': Oldest continually operating, is it not?

Well, TRs in the summer tend to get lost in the chaos....I figure by "holding out", I can get more mileage out of my TRs by posting them in the dead of Winter, what crazy yankees call the "Off-season", whatever THAT means...;).

Of course, that's also when the "other" Mike Miller gets his J tuned up, and Hoops season reigns supreme in gator's house....aka, Swampy's...:)
