Abandoned Park in Japan

This shuttle does indeed look like a Meisho design. Meisho have 3 different designs of shuttle loop to my knowlage.

1) This type is jointly build with Senyo (another prominant japanese company that built Delphis and Vanish), this is the most interesting design to me as the train is dragged up a small incline before dropping through the station and then down a 2nd drop into the loop. 2) The same type of Shuttle loop seen above at Kappaia is a smaller version of #3. And is well explained above. The Kappaia version has an unusal structure on the spike but i assume this is to do with landscaping requirements

3) This type is huge and as far as i am aware only 2 were built. this coaster actually held the world record for tallest coaster at 193ft (according to a couple of japanese pages i have read) for a short time. Interestingly (to me anyway) Sameco a small Chinese company offer something very simular to number 2 from above but does seem to differ slightly with a shallower lift and a different support structure. This one can be found at Jin Jiang Amusement Park. http://www.sameco.net/coasterlei/fuu.jpg

I have a 1978 catalog from a company called Meisho. It looks like half the rides in the park were built by this company. I will try to post some pictures in the next few days.

I don't recall any more B&Ms in Japan besides Diavlo, Hollywood Dream, and Pyrenees. Which one is this one? It's like Batman but goes to the right. Oh, and maybe after two years those scans could be put on...

Maybe if SFA acquired an old, rusted Meisho from Japan it would appease...someone.

Abandoned parks seem to be more the norm over there anymore. I got really obsessed with finding as many japanese parks as I could about a year or so back, and it seemed like there were almost as many closed/abandoned as there were operating.

There's a part of me that's sad to see so many parks rusting away, but there's another part that thinks it would be kinda cool to explore some of them.

^True, gator, I forgot about the old, rusted Togo. And that old, rusted Arrow shuttle that used to be there, too. At least Japan lets their defunct coasters rot while assembled!

SFA is abandon.. Everytime I go there no one is even working.

Now for those who went to CoasterFest this past weekend or anytime this year. Did anyone see the abandon amusement park on top of the hill when you just got into Gatlinburg? I climbed up there and "found" a way to get in and walked around. Now it didn't have any coasters, but it was real cool. It seems it just closed and the owners just left everything. You could tell people have been up there going though stuff. Finally found a sign on the merry mixer Gatlinburg Amusement Park. It started getting dark and it felt like a bad movie was about to start. I jimmied off a sign for myself and the tilt-a-whill still had it's org sign on it. Does anyone know anything about this place? Has anyone else made there way up there?

Nothing like trespassing and being a thief CoasterMonkey. Goes to show what kind of person you are and a great way to set an example.

Oh I forgot How many Kids look up to us Coaster Nerds for there morals and values.

Iceman I went up there got a pc of history that will just be thrown away. Got to do something that I and you will never get a chance to do again. While you sit in your car and worry about your dirty diaper.

Didn't ask you for a morals check and really glad that you won't do anything that bends the rules.. because that leaves me more of a chance of not getting in trouble. Less people that know.. the better.

Got some great pcs and video.. I've been to 26 parks this year and never have had a problem with going by the parks rules. Sorry Iceman you didn't get to see how cool this park was.. but you where waiting for your mom to pick you up.

p.s. Everyone I told At CoasterFest .. Made there way to the park during the day or the next. We all must be just awful people.. Why would you hang out with such bad people?
