Abandoned Park in Japan

Greenland? But I didn't see any glaciers in the pictures. ;)

Hell...half of the parks are called "greenland insert park name" in Japan, Eric. ;)

Well, the landscaping IS green!

I thought all the Japanese parks were called Happy Funtime Land? Shame about their economy being in the toilet, lots of good parks going under there. As bad as SF stockholders feel (I only own a few token shares, bought 'em with redemption tickets)...at least the PARKS would still operate under another company here in the States.

Wondering why the Japanese gov't has such a big role in *many* of their business ventures, but then seems to have a complete hands-off approach to the amusement parks....

P.S. If that was a Meisho shuttle, or an Arrow, then I'd be more forgiving myself....it's an Anton, move that sucker to an *operating* park at least!

It looks like he posted a new photoset of an abandoned park in Japan. Again, great pix. Any ideas where this one is?

Thanks for the links, Erick. I went to RCDB and searched for shuttle loops in Japan that are either SBNO or listed as "operated." The list I got didn't have pictures to help identify the shuttle in the links you provided. Perhaps Nasai or Peabody can be of help?

Cool pics, tho...thanks!

I'll ask Tomoko later. I still can't really read Kanji's.

I must say that is one of the coolest looking shuttle loops. A terrain shuttle loop. The mouse looks cool too.

Interesting shuttle indeed. Riders are pulled forward up a spike, are released backwards thru the station, the loop, and up the return spike, then do the loop forwards.

Actually, the mouse lift looks a LOT like the Goldrusher lift.

I noticed that, too! ;)
Moosh, on Moonsault Scramble the train was pulled forward out of the station and up the first spike too.

-Jimvy!

I'm betting that this is a park named Kappapia based on the "kap" extension in the photo set's web address.

Good call, TCKR!

As Jim said, I would bet this is a Meisho product, with the same track, and ride experience of their since-torn-down Moonsault Scramble. :(

I second that Moosh!

Doing a google image search on the name brings up several more photos of the park.

Rob, from the video footage I have of Moonsault Scramble it looked like it shook you up pretty bad through the inversions...

I loved my copy of the Guiness Book of World Records when I was a kid. I'd always fantasized about riding it. Unfortunately, RCDB doesn't seem to have pictures.

I found this though. Love the supports!

Robbio....Duane says it's Meisho...his batting average is pretty high... ;)

Anton's spikes are DEFINITELY more airtime-inducing, that looks more like the old Flip-Flap, etc., with it's drawn out trackwork into and out of the loop.

Jan,

Found some more Moonsault pics here.
