A look at maverick's new trains.

I belive that california screamin has had multiple problems. Just one of them was recent.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Putting faith in a system that, in theory, SHOULD work as designed, is a risky plan.
You're describing every single safety system ever made. The magnets can't go anywhere, they're bolted to the train. The LSM's are bolted to the track. How could that fail?

That's right! The fins on the car will crate a magnetic field to help slow the train. Look at the system on TTD! The second it hit the fins, it starts slowing down.

And what if something were to happen to "un-bolt" those items? Highly unlikely but still possible is all I'm saying.
Anything is possible. We ended up with Bush for president a second time. (May his term end sooner than later)

Could be, although if the coaster is going to open soon, I would think that the brakes would be installed and ready for testing. It seems to take a few months to properly calibrate a computer system for a high-tech steel coaster.

I would assume they would have the set up simmalar to TTD. Train one launches, and until that train clears the sensor just past the crest of the top hat, then train two moves into launch position.

If there were to be power failure, the ride would roll back, but still have enough room to halt on the flat track where it was.

"Don't look back."

If it works for TTD, then it should work well with Maverick

Yea, but TTD does not have a LSM lift hill.

It's like comparing apples to oranges.

That's like saying what if the wheels fall off, the track breaks and an earthquake swallows it all whole. Hundreds of LSM's aren't going to fail, and the magnets are bolted to the train in a way that is total overkill. I mean, those things are going to take the brunt of force that will send the train 70 mph.

But its the same concept. A train cannot advance to the launch zone until a train clears the top hat (In TTD's Case). In Maverick's case, once the train crests the top of the LSM lift hill, the train in waiting zone 2 should move forward so it can be ready to go up the hill. This way if a power failure should occour, the fins will act as breaks, and there will be no train in the path of the rolling back train. *** Edited 3/1/2007 9:31:07 PM UTC by Coaster Krazy***

You have to admit, the trains are sexy.

I am still in shock that cedarpoint is spending so much time and effort on theming a ride.

I wish they could theme all of the rides in the park. To me, the theming really adds to the ride.

Crazy Horse remember last time they tired it.

Wasn't there a rumor about some guy that fell of the track while themeing it and died?

No

Actually, a worker did die working on disaster transport. But I am not sure if he fell, or died some other way.

It' s good to have a little theming but not to much or it can get corney and hard to upkeep.

Corney?

Would you call splash mountain or dueling dragons corney?

i wonder what it would feel like if the inline twist was coming straight out of the helix, propelling the riders outside giving way to the positive Gs in the helix.
Right now, there is a straight section of track in between the two elements.
on the other hand, the inline twist looks insane enough by itself already.
great to see another "stengel dive" element being built :)

airtime for everyone
