A Few Hours At SF Great Adventure on a Beautiful Spring Saturday 5/4

That's the beauty of CoasterBuzz. These moments when we all get to stand around and silently look at one another thinking, "What the hell just happened?" :-)

One thing's for sure, though...I bet Mike is just so glad he posted this trip report!

Coasterbuzz: the place to have your faults listed by others who have never met you. (And probably have a worse case of the exact same faults).

Can we talk about coasters? And good strategies to get the seat you want, while being polite (like Mike Gallagher did).

^ Oh, truly so! I'm so many things now that I wasn't when I posted it..a dick, a tool, stubborn, inflexible, text-challenged..oh, right the last one's true. At least Bobbie got SOMETHING right about someone she doesn't know :)

EDIT..That was to Carrie's post. You're a sneak, Billy. ;)

I'm pretty sure her post is the only one anyone will remember from this thread now anyway. ;-)

Well, it would have been until Billy showed up with his backhanded hugs to bring it back around.

At least I don't try to hide the fact that I'm an asshole.

Kudos for sticking to what you're good at.

Well, we had a nice moment of Coasterbuzz bonding over the silence-inducing crazy post, but that's been ruined now.

Proving that it IS possible to nullify crazy with even more crazy.

It's happened twice now in this thread.

Neither do I sir. The big difference between what you've said about me in this thread and what Bobbie said, is this:

You were not on the platform with me, so you have every right to interpret the situation from your perspective. Bobbie was involved in the situation and chose to describe it differently than it happened.

That wasn't really directed at you, so I hope you weren't taking it that way, Mike.

Actually, if I may be sappy for a moment, I hope you don't take any of it personally. You summed it up pretty good - I'm just sounding off about how it seemed to me based on your post. I could be (and probably am) totally wrong.

Although, I would like to point out again that the park employee seems to get it. ;)

It's what I do - anyone around here knows I love the debate (sheesh, I'm trying to tell guys in the other thread that luck doesn't exist!). Hell, we turned this TR into an awesome 5 page discussion. That's what it's all about to me.

I'm having a blast with it, I hope everyone gets that. I imagine it doesn't come off in type unless you're familiar with the characters involved. It's playful picking. It's arguing for sport. Keeps me sharp. :)

Hopefully, you see the difference in tone between me and Carrie having fun debating it and my posts here later in the thread directed towards others.

At any rate, I didn't want you thinking that jab was meant for you.

It's all good, Gonch. Your points and arguments are always delivered with some humor, and rarely, if ever, come off as mean-spirited. If mean-spirited is what someone wants, it can be found easily elsewhere in this thread..

For whatever reason, I too LOVE the debate...maybe we're both lawyers in another parallel universe, and the "leaks" force us to engage thusly to get it out of our systems. I'd say the luck thread is one of the 20-30% of the time Gonch and I are on the same side of the debate.....maybe that's just lucky?

This has become a very strange thread. After everything else that has transpired, Gonch just broke character.

I will defend Billy though. He is one of the sweetest dudes I have ever met. A lot of us are guilty of backhanded hugs. It's my way of telling people that even though I think their opinion sucks, I still respect them.

Hey Mike. I'm with you now. I was under the assumption that you insisted on riding in the very back on the first train out of the station, and not YOUR first ride. If you were willing to wait until it was okayed by the staff to ride, I do not see the issue at all.

I totally thought that Bobbie post was sarcasm laced and would whiplash back to showing why Mike is great, but after reading it a few times and realizing it was serious, man...

Let's just forget everything I said. If I was dealing with that, I'd be a dick, too. :-)

Hi

I've been holding back on this post for a while, but I just want to go ahead and post. I know the point that coaster enthusiasts should know better has been brought up, and I do agree, but I'm a bit half and half on this. First off, a ride operator should know just as much if not more than any enthusiasts. The conversation should have went from the way it started to the operator stating what the issue was with Mike riding in the back. He didn't. From my perspective, the operator didn't do anything to stress the importance of the issue in case it was serious. He seemed like he was okay with compromise. And compromise is exactly what he got. I do get where Gonch is coming from though. Either Mike or the operator should have done something, but I personally think the bigger fault is at the hands of the operator.

Also Bobbie, that was a tad bit harsh. I thought it was rude that you post something personal like that on a public forum. I think you should have kept it to yourself or settled it out with Mike. I know I have no authority whatsoever to point this out to you, but posting about how Mike wouldn't pick up his phone or how he didn't know ow to text, that was just mean IMO.

Blasterboy, if I'm understanding what's going on here, you're treading into the same territory as bunky666 threaded into with Dan Koch a while back. My advice? Take the keys out of the ignition and step away from the vehicle. Let awkward be awkward. ;)
