A couple Beast Buzz Questions....

More questions(sorry Antuan;)), this time about Beast Buzz. It looks as if I may actually get to go. I've been to PKI once before in 94, and it rained so I didn't get to ride Beast or Vortex because when they opened, my group was leaving.

What I was wondering was this:

I plan on getting there early enough for the morning Beast walkback so I can finally ride Beast, and of course I'll be doing ERT on Beast at nite. But when it comes to FoF(I've done PKDs after the mods, and JJ before mods, so even though I'll still ride it, its not a high priority on my agenda), Delerium(not a huge spin-n-spew fan, but want to try it) and Drop Zone(the largest Drop Ride I'll have done when I do it, but still not the highest priority), shoud I just wait for the ERT on these and not ride them during the day? I won't be too aweful disappointed if they are canceled on ERT and I don't get to ride, so should I just wait?

I plan on doing the Behind the Scene stuff, as that sounds cool, how long do those usually take? What time will they be, approximately? And will there be things going on during the entire lunch period, as I'd like to try and see that as well?

Also, anybody with a course of action as to what order I should hit the coasters(I plan on hitting all, both sides of Racer and the kiddies) that I should try, leaving Beast and FoF out of the mix, I'd appreciate it.

Sorry its such a big post, but its my first enthusiast event(and I still have to see if I can get off work when I start my new job, so I still may not be able to go).

EDIT: P.S., Jeff, will the walk back to Beast be at 10 when the Park opens? Oh, and BTW, can't we have a run thru in the Nick Parade like CBCon???;)(just kidding:)).

Thanks in Advance!

Since this topic was brought up I have a question. If you have a Paramount pass then do I need to go to Group Sales and get my name tag, since I won't be getting a ticket. Thanks.

Jacob, yes. That's where you will also get your meal ticket. At least, that's the way it's been for the last two events at PKI.

Clint, personally, I'd wait for the ERT, but get a ride on Drop Zone ahead of time. I don't recall there being a DZ ERT, but I could be wrong. (and usually am...)

I've found that working your way around the park counter clockwise is best to hit all the major rides, as most people head to Action Zone right away because that area is viewable from the parking lot.

Thanks, joe.! Actually, I think ERT at nite is Delerium, Drop Zone, Beast, and Flight of Fear. At least thats what Jeff is telling us in the flyer;).

I'm mainly interested in hitting the Flyers(for the first time, to see what all the Buzz is about), Drop Zone, Delerium, and Tomb Raider when it comes to Flats, as they took my favorite Flat out due to a fatal accident:(.

Thanks for the info so far!

No one can predict what the weather will do or what might break or whatever, so do whatever you think you should do.

Doesn't matter if you've been on the other Premier rides, because none of them run like PKI's. Fast launch, no mid-course trim, totally out of control. There's nothing quite like it.

I don't actually know, but I would assume that they'd run the Delirium and Drop Zone ERT at the same time since they were next to each other. We'll find out that night.

I don't know how long the backstage stuff will take, but I can assure you that there is a lot of walking.

If you're there the entire day and the weather cooperates, you won't run out of time. We've actually left the park and napped just to make it through. 15+ hours is a long, long day.

Last year, I think the walk back for Son of Beast took 45 minutes to get out there, look around and walk back.

If that is any help in terms of what the walk is like - we went "backstage" from the FoF area and walked to SoB (I love to write that - haha).

What time do we have to be there to get the morning walkback?

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

9:30am I think is usually the time that happens. Meet by the fountains and good ole' Jeffery (or crew) will take us back to Beast.

Happiness is like peeing your pants. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth. Trip pics are here: http://www.pbase.com/jhbd99.

The mid-course trim was on when I was there with Paris-Joe, Keify, and Dawny a couple weeks ago. I hope that was just temporary or something as we were a little disappointed. Anyone know? :-\

Thanks for the responses! I'm still looking forward to finding out if I get to go or not.

Hey Brett, Wanna go to Beast buzz? Oh, and that shirt looks hideous...

It will be fun Clint, just call in sick like I do half the time.....lol. Of course nowadays they know better and say "Ok, what park are you going to THIS time?"

No kidding Tina.....it's like, when I really AM sick, they think I'm calling from IoA. Can't they just listen for Hulk's LAUNCH on the background and deicde for themselves whether it's a "sick day" or a *mental health day*....;)

I always LOVE events at PKI....just something about the Eiffel Tower and the reflecting pool, Drop Zone-gasms (usage courtesy of Tina), The Beast, The Racer, etc. I always feel like I'm going to run into the Brady Kids or find Jan's poster of Yogi Bear or something...

I'd love to join up with you lunatics for some hijinks, and some SERIOUS flyer action, but you'll have to have a great time without me. Just be sure and get a group photo with Hong Kong Phooey so you can *torment* me upon your return...:)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

As a ride op on Beast this season, I wish all people coming to the event a great day. As I look ahead to my schedule, I find that I am off that day, but plan to visit to meet some people there. I will most likely be wearing either my Scream! shirt, or my Beast 25th shirt with a nametag that says "StXBomber" on it.

Once again, with just a couple weeks left, enjoy your day! I hope to meet some people from this site there!

You guys mean I have to be at the park by 9:30 for the Beast walkback?

I'm getting away for the weekend without the kids, scoring a Jacuzzi room and traveling with two ladies and I have to be up and at the park by 9:30am.

The cruel irony...

You mean I actually get to meet the legend himself at 9:30 in the morning?!?;)

Gonch, you should look at it this way, at 9:30 in the morning when most 'normal' people like me are usually asleep, you'll be at the park getting gawked at by me instead because of all of your RCT greatness.;)

No autographs, please. Lord Gonchar does not function correctly until at least 1pm. At that time autograph requests may be granted.

Trust me on this one. Gonch strolling into PKI on 2 hours sleep, still not sober enough yet to be hungover and chain smoking will not be pretty ;)

Edited - Someday I'll learn to spell too.

But at 1pm we can talk coaster/RCT geek all we want, right, Gonch?;)

Everybody but you ;)

Do the Backstage tours include a ride (specifically I am talking about Tomb Raider)? If not, no big deal..I'll hit it at some point during the day. But it's a good thing to know =)

Thanks,

Kev

What hotel are most people staying at for BeastBuzz? Any recommendations?

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
