500' Skycoaster?

My dad said there are plans to put a 500' Skycoaster up in orlando has anyone heard about this?
I think the Extreme Rides 2000 show said something about that.

I think they'd have to strap you into a diaper!

I hope this becomes a reality and gets built! I went on the 300 ft. one down in Orlando not too long ago and that was amazing. I'm almost positive thats the tallest one in the world right now.

see post of 515 foot coaster?

It is about 4-5 years off...but will happen. No one ten years ago we would have a 420 foot coaster. But we do. It is only a matter of time.

I remember that show saying it was on the drawing boards....

but man, that was over three years ago. I think that idea is probably scrapped by now. I mean 500 ft? The tallest is about 300ft right now. Why spend all that extra money for something that tall, when you can get the record for cheaper?

Not to mention, what would you charge for a 500ft skycoaster to make it profitable? And would people pay it?

Since when does the price of admission vary by the rides height?

If they still have plans to build the 500 footer then I think they'll go ahead & do it & I'm sure the peeps down there would be more than willing to pay the fee to have the crap scared out of them.

I bet it would take a lot to make it profitable. But that would be awsome to ride. I wonder how fast it would go. I forget what formula I have to use to calulate it.

The 300ft Skycoaster of Florida costs $37 per rider to ride. There is no other skycoaster in existence that I know of that costs that much.

If they DIDN'T charge more it would take that much longer to pay off since it'd be exponentially more expensive.

That's why it'd cost more.

Dare Devil at Six Flags great adventure is $40 for one person! Go to Gadv.com t you'll see the price.

I tried checking out the official website but couldn't find the prices for it.

However, I think the price goes down the more people who ride right? From my experience, I *believe* the price is the same or very slightly cheaper for the FL skycoaster. I might be wrong though, it's been a while since I've been on it.

Either way, I think my point stands, a 500ft skycoaster would more than likely cost more than a 300ft one.

At Gadv the skycoaster was 35 for one person, then 30 for two people then fifteen if three people fly if I remember correctly.

Man it's only like $10 a person at wild adventures.
at Kennywood, it's (correct me if I'm wrong) $30 for a single, $20 per person for a double, and $15 per person for a triple. Thats not too expensive.

My mind works in strange ways. Yeah with a chain driven lift hill and gravity.

The turnover time is not profitable for a skycoaster that size. The lift time is too slow. Ask anyone with the standard 110' if they would trade it in. Answer is no.

I see your point but if the lift time was excelerated a little I think that would make the experience even more scary. :-)

The only thing mentioned in the Extreme rides show about a 500 footer was that they have the ability to do it. Who will fork over the money to have one built is the question to be asked.
