Ok well I was just on the Six Flags website and I decided to check out the park map, I am not sure if this is still last years or not but Psyclone and Flashback are still there, but what suprised me was STE only had one side posted on the map and I know from my last visit there only one side was running but it still suprised me, also Scream has trees all around its outside but I am not sure about everything else on the account of my souvineer map is not in my possession at the moment.

That map is old. The 2003 map had trees around Scream! too. And Superman has always been depicted like that, even when it first opened and was running both sides simultaneously.

ok I just wasnt totally sure.

According to sixflags.com, Deja Vu at SFMM is closed until March 24.

Ride count on Tatsu: 18 Ride count on X: 11
^ Which has probably something to do with Psyclones destruction. I am sure come march 24, Psyclone will be totally gone

Grass under Scream? I thought hell froze over when Van Halen annoucned they were touring with David Lee Roth this summer!

Not anymore!

Hallelujah for new paint on Ninja! Things are coming together so nicely at MM. Things that should have been taken care of 5 years ago are HAPPENING! (i.e. removal of Psyclone and Flashback, reopening of Skytower, etc.)

Still not enough to get me to visit this year. In fact this is is the first year since 1980 that I will not have a Six Flags season pass and will not be visiting a single park in the chain. I'll spend my money elsewhere.
Mamoosh, grab a CF season pass instead. Better yet, spend your summer hitting the smaller parks around the country, like Canobie Lake in Salem NH. it's a great classic little park. Gotta ride the Yankee Cannonball.

Coaster Junkie from NH
I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!

Alot of reports seem to say Skytower is barely open, is that true?

During the month of August and September of 2006, Sky Tower operated sparesly (even having officially reopened in May) due to lack of staffing which were allocated to more popular and major attractions. Since then, it has been open on a regular basis.
What is the point of Sky Tower being open. You go up an elevator, and look around. That's not some big attraction unless you are an enthusiast. Big deal. I understand Six Flags closing that thing. It's not a ride like the Sky Trek Tower at Six Flags Great America. I like that ride, but this isn't the same thing.
The point is that some people enjoy going up to catch what I would presume is a fantastic view of the park...not that I would know since it was closed last August when I went. I tried on two different days to no avail. Families also enjoy that kind of attraction.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
Can I get a collective cheer from everyone on the boards?

As of today, Psyclone is no longer standing. :)

Why do people go up the Eiffel towers at the former Paramount parks, or the real Eiffel tower, the space needle, or the St Louis Arch. It's all about the vviieew maaann. It would be cool if they could put some kind of snack bar or food place up there.

If I remember correctly but when I went to MM in late July the Skytower said closed but the elevator kept running back up and down. Anyone think that it was just maintance or something (or even the ghost of the MM Sky Tower)?

What is the point of your post? Why do any rides exist? Why do people like coasters? Why do people like flat rides? Why are people straight? Why are people gay?

What's a big attraction to you? Rollercoasters?

Your one-track minded ignorant posts (plural as in it's not just this thread) just baffles me.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

It was my mother.

Oh wait was that rhetorical?

So, the moment for Skytower in my opinion is that mid-afternoon break during your day at SFMM, when you have been on most of the coasters and feel like you can't handle anymore without emptying your bowels the wrong way - a feeling not aided by picking up an ultra sweet frozen lemonade from one of the stands -
making you want to do something actually non-nausea inducing.

The only disappointment I experienced after I had my upset stomach propelled upward in the elevator was that the viewing platform was enclosed with glass windows, obstructing the access to fresh air, a thing so desireable in a coaster fan's afternoon puke prevention intermission.

Wondering why this was, this does prevent people from throwing anything including themselves down onto the Samurai hill.
:o)

The view IS great though, you can see all the coasters from above and also some of the surrounding valley.
It's like being weightless on STE, but much longer and less weightless of course.

airtime for everyone
The problem in which everyone complains about is the fact that not all the coasters are open all the time. The reason for this is the fact that they have to be rehabbed. There is no time like other parks for the trains to be rehabbed. Batman could be open all year, but it would have to run one train all year. It takes several weeks to rehab a train. This has to be done every year (I would think.) The reason is because it doesn't have enough trains.

A ride like Riddler's Revenge can run 2 trains in the winter, and in the summer. The reason is because it has 3 trains. Goliath has 2, and it's like Batman. Deja Vu can only close because it only has one.

So, what the park needs to do in order for these rides to have 2 trains during the summer, and at more times is to buy more trains for Batman, Goliath, Revolution, Colossus, and X (because of nature of that ride). Yes, this is a lot of money, but in order for 2 trains to always be working, it would definitely. Now, are they going to spend that much money?? I really doubt it. I see Tatsu they bought enough.

This is why Disneyland, and Disney World always have multiple trains on there rides. The reason is because they have so many. How many do they have on California Screamin? Is it 4, or 5? It's a lot. I know that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has 5. Matterhorn Bobsleds has a ton.

So, the problem to solve this is to buy like Tatsu. Have an extra train. I guess Tatsu can run 3 trains with 2 sides. Get an extra train even if it can't fit on the track like Batman. So, that's why roller coasters are always down. I learned this from a PR person.

If you can figure out how to possibly run every roller coaster with 2 trains (except Deja Vu), please tell me. I can't figure it out. I want to find a way. A lot of the roller coasters have to be closed in the winter (when they open) to do that.

Six Flags Over Texas has a lot of there roller coasters down during Holiday in the Park. This is why (rehab). They have no time otherwise. They have 2 months they are closed.
