I can't wait to see what kind of layout SFMM has in store. I hope there are some "new" elements.
There is already a countdown on their site to advertise their new coaster (THEY said it was a coaster). I can only think that SF wouldn't want to destroy and ruin all the hype created for La Ronde by saying what they're getting in 2006 in that press release.
Good to see a big investment planned for 2007!!!

“A number of those [new Arlington] rides may be rides that are being relocated from other parks, particularly Houston’s AstroWorld,” said Gary Slade, publisher of Amusement Today. Fiesta Texas in San Antonio is getting one of AstroWorld’s roller coasters, Slade said, but he said he did not know which Houston rides were coming to Arlington. He said theme parks commonly relocate rides. For example, the Arlington park’s bobsled ride, La Vibora, came from the Six Flags’ Magic Mountain park in California.
I think we can pretty safely assume Serial Thriller's finding a new home at Fiesta Texas.
There's really not much AW can offer SFOT that they dont already have, barring Diablo Falls, SWAT, and the troika. All the other flats duplicate rides they've got or are too similiar (eg. Looping Starship, Dungeon Drop).
Honestly, SFFT would be a fantastic home for Tx. Cyclone....but they'd need to better by that than they have with Rattler...talk about a hellish helix (hell-ix)? The brakes entering that portion of the track "lock up" the ride...then you get stopped AGAIN exiting the helix - all taken *about* 10-12 mph slwer than intended...

The area where Joker's Revenge was didn't look like a bad place for a wooden coaster, either...the wrecking ball is *contraindicated* by the rides I got on TC, it was amazing. Despite those trains, it rode like a CHAMP...
Quite sure SFAW's SLC would end up at SFFT though as they're the only park without an invert.
Here's the rundown of coasters at each aSF park effective with those built in 02.
SFA -zero,only one water ride in the themepark & HH rennovation for 05 season, more to follow from what we know either in 06 or 07 last coaster added was Batwing in 01.
SFAW-zero, last coaster was serial thriller in 99.
SFDL-zero-last coaster added was S:ROS in 99.
SFEG-1 the flying coaster added in 02-zamperla volare.
SFSTL-zero,their last coaster was the boss added in 2000 .
SFGRAM_S:UF in 03,Ragin cagun in 04.
SFGRADV-S:UF in 03,KK in 05,El Toro in 06.
SF LA Ronde-Le Vampire(B:TR clone) 02,new hyper in 06.
SFKK-Greezed lightning in 03(was SFOG's viper).
SFOG-S:UF in 02,Canyon blaster in 04,Goliath in 06.
SFFT-zero-last coaster added was S:KC in 00.
SFOT-zero-last coaster added was Titan in 01
SFMM-2 Scream in 03,Tatsu in 06...however X became an 02 ride, along with deja vu seeing as how niether coaster opened or ran reliably during their debut season in 01.
SFMW-Zonga in 03.
SFNE-2,B:TDK in 02(was supposed to go to SFA that year) MR six pandemonium 05....rumored coaster in 06.
SFM-Superman(planned for 02 but put on hold til 04/05 due to construction permit issues).
Anyone notice a pattern here? it seems the SAME parks have repeatedly been getting coasters as their major ride installations in recent years while the rest have not in the past five years or longer,SFI needs to cut this crap out if they ever hope to survive under current management, the guests at these parks that've been left out realize the problem & aside from the poor operations it IS something they've been complaining about & it's not just the enthusiasts on the boards complaining either.
SFAW is gone for 2006 and was probably slowly planned to go the last couple of years. Great Adventure, Magic Mountain, Great America, Over Georgia, and Over Texas are going to see a large number of additions for being their most attended parks and they have to keep that attendance up and try to move more people in. The worth of the ride has to be equal in what money they're bringing in and the number of guests they need to keep interested and capacity up.
SFNE is clearly a park they see a lot of potential with and frankly, I think its one of the most beautiful and best parks in the northeast.
SFDL has *a lot* of revenue brought in with the campground, concerts, and they really don't need a new coaster to keep it stable and profitable. I don't blame them for not adding much and it continues to be a classy park for its size. Taken for what it is, it's the best and most popular park in western New York.
SFEG also added another coaster in 2004- Intamin's Half Pipe coaster. It's the most popular park in Colorado and one of the only parks with not much competition and people will still go. Why do they need to add much?
SFKK is losing steam with Holiday World down the road and they don't have enough land to build things to compete with Kings Island. I don't know if coasters is what they need. Flame me, but as long as they keep solid operations and good marketing, I think a steel hyper would push them to a perfect position next to HW and bring some people in from Cinci. SFStL is in a similar boat but the other two parks are further away.
SFA has some serious competition with PKD and BGW. The waterpark is their best bet to prove they're different and have something better than the other two. Batman The Escape would be an interesting addition though..
SFMW can't do much except do what PGA does better and a lot of people probably think they do even if PGA has the higher attendance. Their coaster collection is better from the looks of it. The new kiddie area should do well.
SFFT seems like a high quality park, but I don't really know much about it or what would give them more advantage over SeaWorld.
Coaster additions aren't supposed to be fair and likely a lot of these parks will receive "new/used" coasters next year. I don't think you have much of an argument anyways.

The HW billboards right next to the park probably don't help, either. (Paula ;) )
...oh, you mean helping SFKK, not HW. :)
