1,250 Acre Theme Park!

That makes more sense...I'm up here in Indiana, and probably won't make it to the park when it materializes for some time but I'm still excited.

It's not everyday you are around when there is a park built of this magnitude.

Well, it's good to see you guys talking about my work. Brett, I know one of them is you. I guess RCTitan is Jester, am I right???

Oh well, the cat is out of the coasterbuzz bag! That page has been posted on Screamscape for a while now. I'm surprised CBuzz didn't pick ut up sooner..

Ladies and Gentleman, what these guys speak of is the truth. I am the lead desinger for this park set to begin vertical construction in March of 2002 with a Memorial Day 2004 opening. I host weekly chats with people on AOL regarding the park and all current world park news as well. I usually try to have a special guest join me. In the past, I have had Six Flags Executives, Arrow and Intamin engineers, and coaster designers on chat.
I will be posting some concept drawings of some of my rides in the next 30 days. Be patient. I assure you that once you see what we are building, you will start saving those pennies!

Wow, I am speechless!  This project sounds like an incredible undertaking, and I wish you nothing but the best of luck.  I think you can count me in on the people who will be there opening day in 2004.

I am extremely excited about this upcoming park and can't wait until you release those concept drawings.  Less than 30 days, woohoo!  Who cares about CP's Impulse now?  ;)

One random question...have you hit any snags with development that would delay this project, or do you forsee anything that could come up?  It's so strange that I didn't see that on SCREAMSCAPE.  Maybe I just passed it off as a wishful rumor.  Oh well, no more, this sounds like the real deal!

I think I can speak for the majority of us here when I say "THANKS!"

"Words are like...funny...you know?"

Due to legal issues, the drawings I release will be raw ones that I did before I got the project. Not as fancy as the finished product that will be released when the park is announced. The website will go live at that time as well.

I will also be recreating the coasters in Scream Machines when the full version is released. I have already released the Giga along with some other designs I am working on for other parks, Follow the link  to download them...

Thanks for the support!.

Chris

Any idea when the park and its rides will be announced?

We are hoping for an announcement in January or February with vertical construction starting around the same time. Infrastructure work on the farm land began last spring..
There will be 8 world class coasters at opening. Some of them have been released, others will be kept a secret. We estimate it will take 3 full 12 hour days to see all of the park.

Great, not too much longer to wait then for the announcement.

This is starting to sound like IOA except on a much grander scale.  Am I correct in thinking this?  IOA focuses on having a themed experience with each and every attraction they have.  However, Cedar Point focuses on having kick butt rides, with little to no theme.

Without giving too much away, or getting into legal trouble, will this park go overboard on theming (similar to IOA, still having great rides) or just have kick butt ride sporting a small theme?

Thanks again for any info you can dish out, I appreciate you being pretty open with this project.

PS I liked that link you gave...it showed off some pretty interesting [ahem] file names for some of your work.  ;)

Actually, I am not Jester, I am just a faithful follower to the world's greatest up and coming theme park!  I live in Memphis and I am just thankful a great theme park will be close by so I won't have to drive about 5 hours just to go to a major theme park.  And thanks for all the info Chris!  WCUSA here I come Memorial Day 2004!

If there's anyone out there who doens't believe Chris, I am willing to back him up.  I;ve had the privilige of knowing him for a few weeks now and everything he's told me has come true so far.  I can't wait to see Wild Country, it will be the end-all of theme parks.

Praise Jesus!!!! It is about time that this area gets an amusement park that people will travel down to.  I refer to this region (Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee) as the rollercoaster enthiust hell, simply because there is a total of 4 good coasters in this region, and there isn't a GRAND Theme park here. You have to go to Flordia, or Ohio for that, of course we have a Six Flags in Dallas and St. Louis, but that is all I am saying about that :).  The reason the park is being built there is a very good idea, and one I have made in the past. Tunica is like the Las Vegas of the South, but they didn't have anything other than casinos now, a world class park like this is coming in and BHAM! Orlando at one time was just a bump in the road until DisneyWorld came around. Thank you Rollercoaster GODS!

i only have one comment, and this being that i know one of the main coaster designers for this park:

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW REAL THIS PARK WILL BE. :)

This park will be unbelieveable, and all of you that don't think it'll happen, think again.  This puppy is one for the record books, and it is not for the largest imaginary theme park!  This sucker sounds huge, almost too huge, but it is true!  O believe me, it is!

God bless you Grandma Godsey, stay in there!

Will recent events effect the liklehood of the is development??

Actually, since it's a patriotic park showcasing all 50 states, we have had MORE support since Sept 11th. Depending on how vertical constrction does, I would say we are on target for a Memorial Day weekend, 2004.

Reading the Screamscape section on this park it says there will be a liquid coaster.  What is this?

P>ell I hate to say this, but for those still interested in the new park in mississippi, i guess i will. Chris Godsey has been posting ever since this topic was started on Thrill Network, he has told some awesome things about the new park.  But sadly this is what one of the moderators has to say about chris..../P>

BR>BR>e have decided to completely cancel the scheduled chat with Chris Godsey regarding a new theme park for 2004.
