CPLady - I'll have to remember that one! I think it's more like 5 or 6 though :)

Toledo is not that bad, same as any Industrial Midwest City. TheWest Suburbs are very very nice. Toledo has a lot to offer. Including The Art Museum, COSI and one of the top Zoo's in the country. Granted I woudn't touch downtown, the Old West End, or the East side after 10 with a 10 foot pole, but every city has that.

Toledo is a heck of a lot better then Lima, Cinci, Detroit, Ypsi etc etc.

And Shivering Tim, if you are going to CBuzz Con staying in Toledo makes tons of sense. Its teh way to go anyway.

Toledo also has an excellent art museum. Perhaps the best in Ohio. At least, it's far better than the one here in Columbus. And I hear the Downtown area has really picked up since they built the new Mud Hens stadium there.

It's a nice little city. I wouldn't say it's better than Cincy, though. Never been to Detroit, and I hope and pray that I will never have to so much as pass through Lima again - *scary* ghetto.

Why would you stay all the way in Toledo? Just stay in Sandusky. ;-)

Me......Motel 6 all the way, although I am trying out the Lighthouse Point for Coastermania this time around. :-)

Tina. Does Motel 6 still leave the light on for you? :)

Personally, I never had a reason to visit Toledo because frankly you never hear anything about it. However, after what 'duckboy' has said about it, I might make a pit-stop on my next trip to Ohio.

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

Its a nice town Chitown. Many on here give it a bad rap but The Art Museum and The Zoo are excellent, the new Mudhens Stadium is a very cool place to enjoy a summer evening. COSI is a very neat place for kids and adults and its a very pretty downtown.

BTW Tony Packos will make you forget anythign about any other hot dogs you have ever had. Surely you have heard of Tony Packo's?

If it can beat a "Real Chicago style hotdog" I will be utterly amazed. I dont see that happening. :)

Remember duckboy, "NO KETCHUP". :)

Well, being the M*A*S*H fan that I am, I Certainly appreciated Tony Packo's.

I remember actually driving quite a ways out of our way just for a hot dog...wasn't too bad at all.

Hehe, we should e-mail this thread to the Lima news editor so he can run more articles about dumb coaster enthusiasts again (he ran one after a thread at GTTP was complaining about one of his articles). I live near Lima (two miles away from the city limits) and I must say I was scared out of my mind driving through downtown at 1 am (comming home from work). Also as of 5 years ago, Lima had the most porn shops, adult book stores, whore houses and such per number of population in all of America. What a great twon that I live near.
You know, I still haven't figured out why Michigan and Ohio almost went to war over the Toledo area...

"You take it...no, YOU take it...we don't this swamp, you have it...no, it's yours...don't make us get out our muskets!..."

And so, the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry was born, long before the days of football... :)

You're right, MagnumForce, Columbus doesn't have Packo's, and we don't have $10 hotels either (at least none that I know of...) ;)

ya know whats hilarious abotu the Michigan/ Ohio rivalry is the fact that there are tons of Michigan fans in Ohio but no Ohio fans in Michigan......Go Figure.

BTW what was that swamp is now some of the richest farm land in the country In extreme NW Ohio. And the real reason Michigan wanted it so bad was because of Maumee Bay.

what I can't figure out is how I live in michigan and drive straight west to get into Indiana. Heck I can drive north into Indiana if i want too. Tell me that doesn't mess with things.

As for Lima I have been scared to death coming back to my GF's in Defiance from PKI late at night, scary place. Only place I have ever saw drug deals going down while I am driving down the road.
What else would they have been passing in plastic baggies and exchanging for cash.

Go to Defiance, there is a nice small/bigger sized town. And we have a Max 2 machine ;) I love the area.

Because we Ohio State fans are smart enough to NOT move up to Michigan in the first place! :) (and those UM fans in Ohio just wanted to escape to a better life!)

Hey, there's OSU fans in Michigan! They go up to Michigan wearing red and grey, to just come back black and blue! :) Toledo is ok. The east side is "more tattoos than teeth!". The Zoo is great (since I work there during the summer!), and it is improving itself. Downtown is getting revitalized with the new Mud Hens stadium, and possible Docks/ sports arena development. But it really is a ghost town at night during the week. Except for the bars!

Don't mess with my hometown, here....
1) Which Quality Inn is it?? Out by the Turnpike? If so, book immediately.
2) And Mag Force is right, it has become a great city with things to do... Too bad it's taken half my life to get there....

There's nothing like a woodie...
For those Central Ohioans who want to taste a real Chicago hot dog without driving 6 hours - try Wholly Joe's on Polaris Parkway, about a mile west of the Polaris Mall.

Mustard, relish, dill pickle, sport peppers, tomato, cucumber, onion, celery salt - it's the only way to eat a hot dog!

Tony Packo's rules, btw. Their pickles are made by Sechler's Pickles of St. Joe, Indiana, home of the St. Joe Pickle Festival. If anyone saw the Food Channel show on the pickle festival, that was my wife's grandmother who won first place in the cooking contest! :)

That's cool as S#i7, Den....yes, we watched the St. Joe pickle festival....I was flipping channels when I saw the rides, and we got *caught up*.

bill, who loves a good pickle, but never *did* understand relish...;)

My wife and I went to it last year. I was expecting something more, but it was basically a bunch of food stands and displays, no rides this time. Fried pickles, however = mmmm.
