Wow, Jeff I am sorry to hear that. The future will bring good things for you, but in the meantime enjoy your time off. Best of luck, we are here for you.

You never think it will ever happen to you...until it does. That's sucks...if there would be any time to help support the site [and our webmaster] it would be now.

Your last sentence is too real for many kids that go through school trying to figure out what they want to be when they grow up...then high school comes along and they still don't know. At graduation, they are anxious to get out of school yet they have no clue what's next...

I pray for a good future for you in search of a new job...best of luck.

wow Jeff, that is awful.  Although Im only 17, I just got turned down for a job I applied for today, so I have a vaugue idea of what you may be going through.  I'll be praying for you.  Thank you for putting up your sites (GTTP and CB) abnd keep up the good work.  I am willing to pay 10,20,or more dollars for CB per year.  That is not a whole lot of money in the big picture.  I don't know what your situation at GTTP is with advertising/funding, but if you might have to charge for that, you could offer a deal (say, 30 or 40 $) for those of us who are members of both sites.  Anyway, good luck with your financial situation and if you need to, take a brak from the site for a couple of days.  Im sure we can amuse ourselves for at last a while.

And I'm sure, Jeff, that if you closed the site for a month and used that grand for food instead of to keep us entertained, we'd understand.

Jeff,

I happen to work for an internet company so I understand how much CTRs have dropped and what effect it can have.  I am more than willing to donate some cash to keep CB and GTTP up and running.  Send me an email so I can have an address to send a check to, a valid email address for paypal, or a phone # for CC info.

I appreciate the offers, guys. Unfortunately, I have to pay for connectivity whether the site is up or not. As I said... there is a plan, and so far it looks like it has a strong response.

Jeff, so sorry to hear about your misfortune, and what bad timing! I too, have family that was directly affected as well, though none have been laid off YET. My uncle is a skydive instructor and resort employee. Planes were grounded, so he had no jumps for a couple weeks, and with no travel, the resort was empty. No work there too. His girlfriend is a flight attendant. No explaination needed there. My Grandfather was admitted to the hospital on 9/11 and was given just a few days to live. His daughter in Pennsylvania (20 miles from the PA plane crash) had to come to Phoenix the very first day air travel was re-opened. She considered driving, but she wouldnt have made it before he passed away on 9/20.

Anyway, try not to worry too much about it. Enjoy your anniversary and take each day one at a time. Everything will work itself out fine in the end. It always does. Just hang in there, keep a positive attitude and move forward.

I am really sorry to hear about your job. This is a really weird time in history. The ramifications of what happend 9-11-01 and since has caused a lot of us to experience and see things we have never dealt with in the peaceful times that most of us have been brought up in. I wish you the best of luck Jeff and look forward to learning how we can join together to make this site work even better.
The company I was working for closed down, the days and the weeks directly following September 11 were incredibly slow, and drove us right out. Waking up to go to work was no fun but when work wasn't there and I knew I needed to go, that was something else. Enjoy the aniversh, the hobby time, and good luck with new jobs.
