To me, Dorney's layout isn't any worse than any other park I have been to. You enter the park between the actual amusement section and Wildwater Kingdom, with Talon, Hercules, and the Wild Mouse all within a few minutes' walk. Thunderhawk, Lazer, and Steel Force are all located in the oldest section of the park, which happens to be down the hill and just about as far away from the entrance as you can get. Still, the park isn't that huge, and if you can deal with the hills, the park is extremely easy to navigate.
Of all the parks I have visited so far, I found Great Adventure's layout the worst, but only because the two best rides in the park (Nitro and Medusa) are about as far away from each other as they can get! Then again, that was a very nice problem to have to deal with!
