dorney park question

With the parking lot construction and all of that, i heard a lot of people commenting on how weird dorney's layout is. Seeing as I've never been there, could somebody fill me in on the exact nature of it? Just curious.

I thought the layout was very eazy to follow. There's an "upper level" (Talon, main gate, Hercules) and the "lower level" at the bottom of the hill (Dominator, Laser, Steel Force, THawk). The only hills are between the upper and lower levels.
It isn't a weird layout at all! It's just that the entire park is built into the side of a hill and valley. You enter at the top of the hill, and there are restaurants and shops...along with WildWater Kingdom, Talon, Hang Time, the rapids ride, Mad Mouse, and Hercules. Then, you move down the hillside where ther are many flat ride and Camp Snoopy, along with many games and arcades. Then you go into the valley where Steel Force, Laser, and ThunderHawk are located. It's actually a very nice layout and there are no dead ends. Once you go there, it is very easy to figure out.

I think the layout at Dorney works well. In every area of the park there's a coaster in short walking distance. The only thing Dorney's really lacking now is shade. Camp Snoopy is shaded and the area in the center of the Thunderhawk but thats it. In a few years that will changesince they added many small trees last season.

Hello, My name is Dan and I'm a coasterholic.
To me, Dorney's layout isn't any worse than any other park I have been to. You enter the park between the actual amusement section and Wildwater Kingdom, with Talon, Hercules, and the Wild Mouse all within a few minutes' walk. Thunderhawk, Lazer, and Steel Force are all located in the oldest section of the park, which happens to be down the hill and just about as far away from the entrance as you can get. Still, the park isn't that huge, and if you can deal with the hills, the park is extremely easy to navigate.

Of all the parks I have visited so far, I found Great Adventure's layout the worst, but only because the two best rides in the park (Nitro and Medusa) are about as far away from each other as they can get! Then again, that was a very nice problem to have to deal with!
Take a look at this:

To distinguish between the lower and upper levels GandC mentioned, basically draw a line from the bottom of Hurcules straight to the Ferris Wheel. Everything to the left is basically on the lower level, everything to the right the upper.

And if you want my personal opinion, I don't think it's a bad layout, really.

I think they may add a new CCI wooden coaster because they are one of the best.
