The S&S Slingshot attraction

Now that we know that a new Slingshot attraction is going up at CP and probably Magic Mountain, I am interested in this new S&S attraction. Does anybody have any info on it? I know that it is similar to the Bungee ejection seat, but it will have cables and be airpowered(?). Isn't it ironic that both CP and SFMM are getting one!!! (Not intended to start a war)

There are pictures of the parts of the slingshot sitting in the SFMM boneyard ready to go as soon as the foundation cures. Does CP even have parts on site yet?
Not that I make a distinction or care who's actually opens first. I laugh my head off at the people who say that the "original" of similar/clone attractions is better because it was first, such as B:TR. If anything, the clones are "better" because they have been refined after analyzing the performance of the original. There was another guy on this board that said whichever GIB opened first would be the original and therefore "better" while the other two were clones, what silliness.

I don't care either who's opens up first either, but to answer your question, Anti-rumor, the word is that CP has parts too. I have not seen it with my own eyes, but I have seen some construction pictures (mostly cleared land and some concrete work). Neither park probably gives a rat's a** about who's ride opens first, but with all the work SFMM has going on with X, and Deja Vu, I wouldn't be surprised if CP's opens first.

That is a space shot on the site. It is not part of the ride! The slingshot is the three black towers. The third black, thin tower is hard to see, but it is peeking out behind the one on the right. Basically, it will hold six people. Two people facing each tower. The people inside the pod will be ably to control the pivoting movements of the pod and yes, it will use air pressure to launch it skyward.

HOW DARE YOU!?!!? SFGAm's B:TR is the best! It is not a clone, the rest are! (well, few feet higher and maybe mirrored) Never, ever say that The original B:TR is not a clone, it is not the original, it is just B:TR. How can it be a clone if it was designed specifically for the land it sits on? It can't be. My point is, B:TR at SFGAm is just B:TR, not JAB:TRC (Just Another B:TR Clone) so never in any way imply that it is a clone. It isn't, and wasn't designed to be. It was designed to be a good ride to fit on the land that was taken up by Tidal Wave (RIP).

Excuse me, but isn't that true with all the other Batman:The Ride coasters? They were designed specifically for the land and were made to be great rides. But because Batman:The Ride (SFGA) was not an "off-the-shelf" model like the spiraling impulse coasters and GIB, and Six Flags did multiply the original design because it was a very successful hit, it isn't a clone, as it was the first inverted coaster. (Think Goliath and Titan)
I don't think SFGA's B:TR is a clone, or course it is the original. I do take issue with the fact that you claim its "better." Clone by definition means they are the SAME. The only thing that should differ with these rides (not counting maintenance factors) is the paint and opening date, not the quality of ride experience. The fact that SFGA's B:TR is the original may have some special significance to you TrBigger, but how can it be truly better than the 9 copies (counting mirrors and under construction) that followed it. If they truly are clones, it can't be. If it is "better" then you are implying that its different somehow.
Anti-Rumor, I understand you're point, what I think he is trying to say is, the original has a special place in most peoples hearts. It also has that original feel, it was designed specifically for that location, and was slightly modified for everywhere else it was placed. But originals have a sort of aura to them that other rides will try to emulate, but can never quite capture. They have a bit of 'magic' if you will. It follows the same in movies, sequels can be just as good as the original, but they don't have the 'feel' of the first. Its not polished and streamlined into a mold. It's unique despite its many offspring. Thats what I think everyone means by how the SFGAm ride is the best despite the bigger, newer incarnates of itself. If I'm just babbling and I missed the point, let me know.
