The parts at SFMM have been there since June 16th. The footers are almost ready to be poured as of July 7. ANDREW what color are the supports for the Slingshot at Cedar Point? Also, where have they preped land for it? One last thing, why would Cedar Point buy one when they already have a ride similar to it, the Power Tower?
Arrowfreak, I was just at the park last night and concrete is already poured right next to RipCord. There are signs up about being taken to new heights. I haven't seen supports though although I didn't really look nor do I know why they would build it with Power Tower. I do think they are slightly different attractions. Anyway just wanted to add my two cents.

You've got that right! I've seen the prototype in action and those three towers were swaying like crazy when they were testing the ride. I don't know why they don't cross brace it.

Just a side not...S&S Power put all 3 towers up in 1 day for the prototype. It can be built real fast once the footers are in place.
ArrowFreak, as far as I heard, the S&S slingshot attraction will be very diffferent to the Power Tower, although using some of the same technology. The car will flip and rotate as you are launched, and fall, and get tossed everywhere! It is a Challenge Park attraction, so it shouldn't be too crowded, probably the same system like the Ripcord (I hope!).

The "car" will not flip at all. As you are launched up the seats will rotate forward so you are looking right at the ground.

The "car" is hooked to the three poles by three different cables. There is no way it could flip around otherwise all the cables would get tangled up.
Power Tower is different... and the color of the supports (I just saw the truck pull in and some small parts) are black.

I was close with the word flip, I should have said rotate!

ANDREW, Challenge Park is most likely to get the black prototype they built in Utah. I wish they selected better colors. Challenge Park's is black and SFMM is white, how plain. Oh well, the ride will be cool, but I hope it is cheaper than 30 dollars.
Like I said I only saw small parts so the big parts may be a differnet color.
