I visited Cedar Point on Saturday, July 7, 2001. After I just got done riding the Magnum and heading for the Mean Streak, I bumped into Dick Kinzel (the head honcho of Cedar Point) in front of the Witches Wheel. What impressed me the most was that he was picking up litter in the park. I stopped and talked with him for a few minutes, commenting about his success on how he worked up through the ranks from the bottom to where he is today. I was very impressed with this man, he was out mingling throughout the park, not hiding behind a desk somewhere, getting first hand knowledge how the park is really doing. After talking a bit I asked him, So what is new for next year? Dick Kinzel's response "I can't really say, but I have never known Cedar Point to go 2 years in a row without getting something new" end quote. I said I understand, shook his hand, and went on my way. Now this came right from the horses mouth, get this through your head everyone, Cedar Point is getting something new for next year, what it is one can only speculate, but it must be something pretty good if the head honcho is not spilling the beans. If anyone goes to Cedar Point, keep an eye out for him, he may be mingling throughout the park and if you see him stop and talk with him a few minutes, he is a genuine person, not some arrogant CEO who doesn't have the time to talk to you.
