I lost because I didn't follow the directions and just started typing the letters once I figured it out.

That's a pretty common problem that I haven't figured out how to fix yet. What I might do is flash the solve button when you type your first letter.

Jeff, that's more or less all I can think of (the directions are pretty succinct and to the point).

Then again, is it really a problem if it takes players a couple games to figure out that they lost because they never took the time to read the directions?

(lookin' at you, Brett....but to be fair I also missed the "solve" rule my first time trying it out)

A flashing "ready to solve? push here" button would be a great addition, but I suggest these ideas knowing nothing about the coding behind them.

I had zero guesses, but choked on the typing.

After sucking hard at this game thus far, I hit a groove the last 2 days. 2 guesses at 13 seconds and ranked 2 yesterday. 1 guess at 10 seconds today.

Hmm. Very possible I could have choked on the typing too, I had 0 guesses at 10 seconds. And I was 3rd yesterday.

I got 0 guesses in 4 seconds today. I think I was #1 a few days ago but the Lebowski one ruined me. I swore it was "ties" so I ended up spamming 11 or 12 guesses before I figured out my mistake.

I guess a lot of people did really good on today's. I had my best ever game at 2 guesses, 25 seconds.

I was so focused on the fact that you outscored me that I didn’t read the rest of your post. I had the exact same issue, guessed “ties” like 2 or 3 times. I didn’t know it was a line from Lebowski.

I choked on that one too, but I remember specifically looking it up. They talk about the rug in past tense a bunch of times while at the bowling alley. I tried to find an instance where he said it about Maude's replacement rug, but I couldn't fine one.

0 guesses and 9 seconds was good for 8th yesterday. So many people didn't find that one challenging. I had a couple of 4ths that involved a non-zero number of guesses (and more time).

I was #17 with 0 guesses at 0:29.

Yeah, I guess with the commas it was pretty easy to solve without guessing any letters...I was #9 at 10 seconds. Need to work on my iPhone typing skills.

I got 3rd with 4 seconds. There aren't many phrases that have three single letter words in that formation.

19th with 1 guess at 10 seconds. I suck.

2nd with three seconds… did Mavis Beacon come in first??
