This is a little unconventional, but whatever, I have to pay for the cloud here. I made a web word game, and I'd like you too try it:

I got it right but it said I lost. Maybe I filled it all in without pressing solve first. If that’s the rule, I didn’t pick up on it.
I like it though, keep ‘em coming. I’ll try againnn no tomorrow.

Yes, that's the rule. It's in the explainer up front, but you're not the only one who misses it. I'm not sure what the right text is.

That was fun, but yeah it popped up and said I lost as soon as I typed in the last letter. didn't have a chance to hit Solve.

I like it. But since you asked for constructive criticism:

Since it's obviously Wordle-inspired, might I suggest an official scoring system? Maybe time, ratio of correct/incorrect letters, etc. I know the info is displayed, but perhaps convert the boxes into a ratio for easy presentation. The giant GAME OVER is kind of off-putting and final.

My wife and I text each other our daily wordle score in Gif form every day. Many do, that's the real appeal, and probably the reason for it's popularity, not the 60 seconds it takes to play. Look into that and you'll have a hit.

P.S. *to (They're needs to be proper words if your pushing a word game after all, hahahahha)

I understood the rules, but yes, the text seems a bit "off"

Very Wheel of Fortune-ish. Enjoyed the game, but I think my rank will be low the first time around. Used almost the whole keyboard.

A phrase clue would be nice. 😉

As a fan of Wordle, I dig it. But I too lost because the rules weren’t clear until I reread them (and yes, I read this thread too).

Totally getting Wheel of Fortune vibes, and I quite like it.

It's just hangman, without the possible death of a stickman. 🙂

I've had a group of friends mess with it for a few weeks. The original plan was to count the clock down and reduce it by seconds with every guess. That ended up being not at fun at all, and the games were really short.

There is a score, sort of, which is guesses and time elapsed. Even you go back the next day, it will show you where you ranked, like this:

Phrazy.net 4/30
"HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME"
❓7 ⏱️00:35 Rank: 13/57, top 22.8%

I ranked 13 out of 57 players. My share for today looks like this:

Phrazy.net ❓7 ⏱️00:41
🟥🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

I have some ideas about the rules. Maybe you need some hints as you play.

I like this game a lot, and I like the lack of a clue as to the category. It makes it extra challenging.

The lack of category certainly adds to the challenge, and the fun in my opinion.

I got today's really quick, it was kinda right up my alley.

I want to know, but didn't want to risk a loss: What if after clicking SOLVE, you accidentally click an incorrect letter or get the phrase wrong? Do you lose? Get a red square and a "try again?"

It wiggles a "wrong" in the middle of the screen, and you can push the cancel button or backspace to your mistake.

I updated the bits about the winning and game over messages, per the feedback here and in the little circle.

I'm curious how other people approach the game. Specifically, I almost always stare at the thing, press 'E', stare at the thing, press 'A', stare at the thing, press 'T', etc. I very rarely adapt my letter selection to the response I'm getting. What are other people doing?

I usually try to figure out the words with each new letter I pick. So yeah, I guess I try to adapt to what I'm seeing (like if I see a three-letter word that starts with T, I'll pick an H or E next, for example).

Today’s was probably my worst attempt. First time picking incorrect letters (several), and the most letters picked before solving. The **** is bananas, man.

I'm pretty embarrassed with yesterday's showing:

Phrazy.net 5/2
"THERE ONCE WAS A MAN FROM NANTUCKET"
❓10 ⏱️01:04 Rank: 54/91, top 59.3%

That's interesting. I take the opposite approach. If I see a three letter word that starts with 't', I will assume it's "the" unless there is evidence that it's not. In fact, most of the time I will assume a three letter word is "the" or "you" initially. It's the longer words that I need the most help on.
