Gold Coast Theme Parks has posted a video on Facebook that explains why a ride is sometimes stopped, and why it isn't the big deal that the press often makes it out to be.

Every station in Orlando needs to watch this video over and over until it sinks in. They take a ride stop to a whole new level in the news around here.
I still remember the night a few years ago WESH cut into whatever I was watching to let me know Hulk was doing an evac off the final brake run before the station. "Stranded riders forced to climb off ride" was nothing more than folks walking the 20 or so feet of platform from the last brake run back into the station.
At least the night they cut into programming for the Rip Ride Rockit lift stop they were doing an evac with a fire ladder.
Somewhere I have a photo of a TV set mounted in my workplace with a set of rabbit ears connected to it.
I guess someone was tired of waiting for the cable guy to show up...
