Gold Coast Theme Parks posts video that explains why a ride stop isn't news

Gold Coast Theme Parks has posted a video on Facebook that explains why a ride is sometimes stopped, and why it isn't the big deal that the press often makes it out to be.

See the video on Gold Coast Theme Parks' Facebook page.

Kudos to the park for making this video.I doubt any news organizations will run with it, but for some members of the public who stumble upon it, it may put them more at ease.

Every station in Orlando needs to watch this video over and over until it sinks in. They take a ride stop to a whole new level in the news around here.

That's why I don't watch the local news. :)

Must be nice. We almost always have some form of ABC news on in the office all day. But even then it wouldn't stop everyone I know from messaging and texting me about the ride that has "guests stranded in the air" when it hits their Facebook news feeds.

I still remember the night a few years ago WESH cut into whatever I was watching to let me know Hulk was doing an evac off the final brake run before the station. "Stranded riders forced to climb off ride" was nothing more than folks walking the 20 or so feet of platform from the last brake run back into the station.

At least the night they cut into programming for the Rip Ride Rockit lift stop they were doing an evac with a fire ladder.

At that point I probably would have called WESH, especially if a show I was watching was interrupted. Probably wouldn't have made a bit of difference but at least they would have heard my opinion on the situation.

Ha. Funny enough we only get one of the ESPNs. So there are times we actually have to live stream games that we want to watch.

You'd think with your ticket prices, they could at least afford you 2 ESPN channels.

I'm sure the rights for those can't be TOO bad.

Somewhere I have a photo of a TV set mounted in my workplace with a set of rabbit ears connected to it.

I guess someone was tired of waiting for the cable guy to show up...

We have Netflix and rabbit ears. We get something like 40 channels (Bay Area) over them. Unfortunately, about 25 are in some non-English language.
