I am sure Omaha can support a Small Amusement park roughly the size of Adventureland in Altoona, IA. It is much more of a tourist destination than what Wichita currently is. Omaha is a good regional tourist destination with great attractions like a world class zoo, a railroad museum, and the College Baseball World Series. Wichita doesn't have much to attract tourists outside of maybe a small air Muesum. Also the location of Joyland was in a very bad neighborhood which didn't help em at all. There was not much hope into making Joyland profitable again.
Right now Omaha has 1 operating coaster in the area at a small family fun center in Papillion. I have yet to visit that park. Maybe I'll find a chance to visit it, but I love the zoo so much. If you ever go visit Omaha be sure to visit the Zoo. (It takes 2 days to go through it)

Agreed. I had an ok day there, but thought it was pretty much a dump with so many missed opportunities. It was nice I could take the train there. Would that Elitch had remained in its old spot.
I looooved Lakeside so much I went twice. (The first night I was there they closed early due to a rash of tornados in the area which is extremely rare for Denver) For the second trip there was beautiful weather and I had a blast. The forgotten old-timey stuff is definitely my thing.

I took a million pictures of the neon. ( got busted )
That's all the reason I need to never go out of my way to get there.
I hate to admit it, but I'd have to look at a map to figure out where Omaha, Nebraska is. I know it's somewhere in the Untied States. It's completely off my radar. There is a very good reason for that though, and it has to do with it not having any kind of destination theme park for me to be interested in.
