Does Omaha, Nebraska deserve an amusement park?

When did this crazy policy begin? I know I was there quite a few years ago, but that seems insane...not to mention largely unenforceable from a practical sense.

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Really? Don't you know the song? "Omaha, somewhere in middle America."

I actually have lived in Omaha for the past 2 years. So far we did Worlds of Fun this year and will be heading out to try the new coaster at Adventureland next week and up to Arnolds Park to try out their old wooden coaster. I still haven't gone to ride the roller coaster that is 5 min down the road from here. I have a goal to do that before the end of the summer. I would love it if there was a bigger/better park right here but we have a couple of nice parks that can be reached after a couple of hours on the road.

I've spent some time in Omaha. It's actually a very nice city. Very clean, lots of good food, a great developed park in the middle of downtown that leads to a very well developed riverfront with paths, pedestrian bridges, etc. I can think of far worse places to live, despite there not being a theme park nearby.

Not sure when, but it's real. I know I wrote a lengthy story about my experience there but I've searched the trip reports and can't find it. Maybe it was part of another thread.

Yes, yes you do. It will be a park themed to corn, we shall name her Cornland!

Inside, we have bumper corns, a corn theme ferris wheel, so on and so forth.

But for the centerpiece, I give you, Cornnado, the Dragon Wagon themed to corn. It is really just a standard dragon wagon, with corn cobs instead of the dragon. Plus you can't ignore the awesome name!

It has a theme song to, maybe something along the lines of Me So Corny.

I think I may be onto something here, any investors?

Damn he's good. That's why it's called a "Gonchback."

And actually I was just too lazy to look, all the while thinking in the back of my mind... Who, oh who do we know with a steel trap of a mind as well as the skills?

Thanks Gonch!

I was thinking of a 311 foot tall coaster named "Omaha Stylee." But out of respect for good taste, I wasn't going to post it. Until MilRider made an even cornier joke than mine. ;)
