Neighbors pressuring Michigan's Adventure to connect to local sewer system

There's community pressure to persuade Michigan's Adventure amusement park to connect to Muskegon County's wastewater system. The park treats sanitary wastewater in two treatment lagoons and several discharge beds behind the park. The park is seeking re-authorization from the state's Department of Environmental Quality to increase the amount of wastewater it treats and releases into the groundwater.

It would certainly give them the room to expand and finally get TimberRider the giant steel giga that the park deserves.

Hey MA might actually be getting a relocated ride next year. I've heard that the screaming swing at knotts that's being taken out is going to MA. Typical. I wouldn't be surprised though if what I heard was a bunch of crap.

It's all about the money. Since they will usually charge triple what the water rate is. There is usually no one held accountable after all that money is paid for in sewer tax.

I was suggesting it would be something along the lines of 'Why don't MA send their crap to Dorney?'.

If Michigan's Adventure could support a sewer connection they would already have one.

More than likely they are already paying the sewer tax without being connected to it.

If they are able to treat their waste water, and have received approval before to do so, why try to change what they are doing? I would wonder how much work would have to be done to connect the park to the city system. I would also question the distance between where muskegon's treatment system is, in relation to the park. Seems like it would be a massive job, as there is nothing else near the park but a few homes, and the new campground across the street.

It also makes me wonder who is complaining, and why. And, for you smarty pants...It's not me!

I didn't do it! I swear!!

Either way, all the crap finds its way to Lake Michigan. To quote Hilldog, "What difference does it make?"
