To use some of the logic dotted around the internet regarding this new breed, the former High Roller on the Stratosphere Tower would be the tallest coaster ever built? But, it wasn't...

It's not the same as that because the total height differential on High Roller was only about 20 or 30 feet. That was the highest coaster, but not the tallest.

On the other hand, if you look at the renderings for the Polercoaster, the ride itself is actually 500' tall. It loads on the ground, has a 500' lift and although it doesn't have a 500' drop, the ride still drops a total of 500 feet.

^^ Call me a purist curmudgeon, but I only count powered non-terrain violet sit-down steel coasters under 73.4 feet with fewer than 6 drops running themed non-OTSR rolling stock at a minimum of 7mph.

Which begs the age-old question:

Is S:TE a red coaster? Or crimson?

Elitist.

That's how they advertised it too. The world's highest coaster.

People here are saying that there are three coasters that go over 400 feet. I know TTD and KK, but what is the third?

There are three coasters that are 400+ feet tall.

Kingda Ka (Six Flags Great Adventure)
Top Thrill Dragster (Cedar Point)
Superman (Six Flags Magic Mountain)

I think the ride will be like Superman: Escape from Krypton in the terms of shuttle.
